Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question by giving reasons for fashion’s influence and presenting a mixed view of its effects. The points about online retail, employment, confidence, cultural connection, loss of traditional clothing, overspending and textile waste are relevant. However, the explanation of how global fashion became influential is not fully developed: online shopping and digital marketing are mentioned, but their role in spreading trends could be explained more clearly. Your positive or negative position is also somewhat unclear. Calling fashion a “double edged sword” signals balance, but the conclusion does not clearly state which side you consider more significant. Develop fewer points with specific explanations or examples, and make your overall judgement explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, paragraphs presenting benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Secondly,” “For instance,” “On the other hand” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main stages, and the example of Western fashion in Asian countries supports the discussion of cultural connection. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in paragraphing. However, several transitions feel mechanical, and the opening of the benefits paragraph (“To commence with… as firstly”) is awkward and repetitive. Some connections between ideas are also unclear, particularly how following similar dress codes creates bonding. Use fewer formulaic signposts and make the relationship between each claim and its explanation more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “international fashion trends,” “personal confidence,” “micro-trends,” “overspending” and “textile waste.” These choices allow you to discuss economic, cultural and environmental effects, and some less common expressions show an attempt to be precise. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable: “international retail,” “online shooping,” “environment pullution” and “plethora positive points” are not natural or correctly formed. “Global trends among humans” is also imprecise. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main ideas, but they limit clarity and naturalness. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships, checking spelling, and choosing direct expressions such as “international trade” or “a wide range of benefits.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect structure in “fast fashion relies on mass production causing several textile waste” and a relative clause in “which results to create a distance with local culture.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “the manner of dressing are determined,” “everyone try to follows,” and “the way of folks dress are have an effect.” Some sentences also lack a clear grammatical structure, such as “To commence with the advantages… as firstly.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking each sentence for a complete main clause before adding subordinate ideas.
