Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, people wear dresses accroding to global fashion trends because they want to show updated with recent trends in society. I firmly agree that it is a negative development and badly affects the middle class families of a nation.
To commence with, the major factor to follow the global fashion is the rampant increase in use of social media. Access of social media permote the new fashion design through different ways such as textile industries heir many models and influencers to advertise their brands due to which young generation attract towards it and purchase clothes without any need and spend a lot of money on them. Moreover, people feel more confiedent to wear trendy clothes and has fashion sense to wear updated clothes. However, it might increase an extra burden to buy new clothes frequently. Middle class families cannot afford as a result a stress creates in families.
On the other hand, it is a positive trend because it flourishs the fashion and textile industies and creates many jobs with increase in demands of trending fashion of clothes. In addition, it aid in promote business in global market. Whenever, people follow global fashion of different cultures, it brings nations close to each other and provide an opportunity to grow in global market.
To conclude, I strongly agree that it is a negative development because people purchase clothes without any need and waste a lot of money on it as well as it produce an extra burden on middle class families which brings stress along it. Therefore, its disadvantages outweigh its advantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: social media is identified as a driver of global fashion, and you state that its effects are negative for middle-class families. The explanation that influencers and models promote brands, encouraging unnecessary purchases, is relevant and gives your position a clear basis. However, the positive paragraph introduces benefits to industry, employment, and international business without explaining how these compare with the financial pressure you emphasise. The claim that fashion brings nations closer is also asserted rather than supported with an example. To develop the response further, explain the mechanisms behind each point and make the relationship between the positive effects and your overall judgement more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two sides, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing is generally understandable, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the argument. Some connections are less clear or mechanical, however. For example, “Moreover” introduces confidence in trendy clothes, but the link between this benefit and the financial burden that follows could be made more explicit. “Whenever” also does not clearly express the relationship intended in the sentence about cultural exchange. Use linking phrases that show precise cause, contrast, or result, and connect each supporting point directly to the paragraph’s main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “social media,” “influencers,” “textile industries,” and “global market,” so the main ideas are generally clear. There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “extra burden” and “rampant increase.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms or collocations reduce precision: “permote,” “confiedent,” and “flourishs” are examples, while “show updated” and “purchase clothes without any need” are not natural phrasing. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, such as “keep up with trends” and “promote a brand.” This would make your vocabulary more flexible and natural without changing your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect clause in “because they want to show updated with recent trends” and a longer sentence explaining how social media promotion affects young people. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “young generation attract” needs subject–verb agreement, and “people feel more confiedent … and has fashion sense” shifts incorrectly between plural and singular subjects. In “it aid in promote business,” the verb pattern is also faulty. Practise agreement, consistent subjects, and verb patterns after expressions such as “aid in.” Breaking some long sentences into clearer units would help you control complex structures more reliably.
