Student answer (Band 5.0)
in recent years, it is very discussed issue in many countries that the way of people dressing are influenced by global fashion trends. In my opinion, i have some positive and few negative aspects in order to fashion sense.
On the one hand, people become well dressed. Fashion can build your self confidence. fashion designer make different kind of dresses from one piece of clothes. fashion can make people modern to the world. Now a days fashion makes more money than other industries.
On the other hand, the fashion trends creates some negative aspects. low income people cannot afford the fashion trend clothes. some of the fashion clothes are bold that make girls shameless. In my opinion some dresses are not suitable for the girls but due to follw of trend they wear it for instance, skinny dresses, cutted pents and different colured combination of dress.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a basic response to both questions: you mention possible benefits, such as confidence and looking modern, and drawbacks, including affordability and pressure to follow trends. However, the explanation of how global fashion became influential is largely missing; saying it “makes more money than other industries” does not explain how trends reach or affect people. Your view is also unclear: “some positive and few negative aspects” suggests a balance, but the conclusion does not state which side you consider stronger. The examples are brief and not developed. The response is 104 words below the required minimum, so there is not enough space to explain the causes, support examples, and make your position clear. Develop each part of the question with specific reasons and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable two-sided structure, using “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” which helps readers distinguish benefits from drawbacks. The ideas within each section, however, are mostly presented as separate statements rather than developed in a clear sequence. For example, the points about confidence, designers, modernity, and money are not linked to explain how global trends influence people. Repeated sentence openings with “Fashion” and “some” also make the writing feel list-like. To improve progression, organise each paragraph around one main idea, explain it, and then give a relevant example. A brief introduction and conclusion that clearly state your position would also make the overall structure more complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “self confidence,” “low income,” and “fashion designer,” so the general subject is clear. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “well dressed,” “fashion sense,” and “follow of trend.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “follw,” “cutted,” and “colured,” also reduce precision. Some wording is unclear or overly judgemental, particularly “make girls shameless”; a more neutral description would communicate the concern more appropriately. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing influence, affordability, media, identity, and consumer pressure, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most sentences use simple structures, and the reader can generally identify the intended meaning. There are frequent errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction, however: “the way of people dressing are influenced” has faulty agreement and structure, while “fashion designer make” and “the fashion trends creates” use incorrect verb forms. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as in “i” and sentence openings such as “fashion.” The response makes little use of complex structures, so it does not yet show much grammatical range. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and joining ideas with clauses such as “because” or “although.” For example, explain that people encounter trends through social media, which can encourage them to adopt particular styles.
