Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era, there are various aspects that influence lots of people dressing on a regular basis that impacts not only individually but globally as well.
Firstly, according to my perspective it has effects the human lives on everyday basis. When every single person follow the trends that going on besides worldly it definitely impacts the people not mentally but also financially. For example, when I entered my university, there were lots of competion between the students that followed trends. Meanwhile, many students priorties firstly branded clothes rather than local becuase they saw everyone preffered it due to create a good social image. If we bought branded clothes it automatically reflects how wealthy and sensible you are otherwise not. But on the other side, those who cannot afford it becuase they belong to poor backgroud then autometically they suffer alot along with their study problems.
Secondly,in lots of work places many people want to become updated due to their job requirement nowadays. For instance, I worked as a teacher in private sector during of my work period I observed that those teachers that follow trends and make themselves to stay updated in the sense of clothing and appearance then they become more effective in deliver a good lecture than compared to those who were uninterested in following the fashion trends.
In conclusion, the global fashion trends has various advantages and disadvantages but I believe that if we consider it not seriously as we already think many problems can easily sort out. If the organizations and governments mantain a balance between branded and local fashion by putting some extra tax on braded clothes then maybe the entire situation can handle down smoothly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both how fashion influences people and whether this is positive or negative, and your examples from university and teaching make the discussion relevant. The clearest concern is that the explanation of how global trends became influential is only partly developed: you describe students copying trends and workplace expectations, but do not explain the wider drivers, such as social media, advertising, or international brands. Your position is also not fully consistent. The body paragraphs mainly present harms and pressures, while the conclusion calls global fashion a mix of advantages and disadvantages and proposes a tax without clearly stating whether you consider the development positive or negative. Develop the causes and state a consistent judgement to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The examples generally follow the points they are intended to support. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from mental and financial effects to social image and poverty without clearly separating these links. Some connections are also mechanical or unclear, such as “Meanwhile” and “But on the other side,” and the second paragraph’s comparison between fashionable teachers and effective lecturing needs a clearer explanation. Use topic sentences that state one main idea, then connect each example explicitly to it; make references and transitions more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “branded clothes,” “social image,” and “job requirement,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “follow the trends that going on,” “priorities firstly branded clothes,” and “handle down smoothly.” Spelling errors such as “competion,” “preffered,” and “backgroud” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim to use more precise expressions for causes and effects, and check spelling carefully. Learning collocations such as “keep up with fashion trends” and “create a positive impression” would help you express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If we bought branded clothes…” and a relative clause beginning “those who cannot afford it.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships difficult to understand. Examples include “it has effects the human lives,” “every single person follow,” and “those teachers that follow trends … then they become,” which show problems with verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction. There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary issues, such as the missing space after “image.” Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammatical links are clear.
