Student answer (Band 4.5)

This is a very interesting topic to discuss. Fashion now become a part of people life. It is very necessary to follow trends with other people. Today, most of the people follow the fashion and trends.

Today, how people is dressed is totally depends on the fashion or trends. The common reason of following this by people is the social media as well as celebrities. Most of the people follow trends by social media or celebrities. When people see to wearing different styles of dresses to celebrities they also want to wear it. When they use social media they also saw many beautiful and fashioned dresses so they buy it online. Sometimes online shoping is a scam.

People became mad to see the different dresses and they buy many unnessacery dress. They wear it only one or two times and then fashion is out so they wasteed it. So by this it is also a wastes of money. When people see to dressed other they also wish to wear it. They buy many dresses and after a while they had waste it.

Actually everybody want to look well than others. So by this they also have a competition with others. In short, global fashion has a strong influence on people's lives. People become unconcious and wastes their money. Waste of money is not good. But fashion or trends makes our people very fast.

So, I think that it is well but by some limitations because we need to pass by our community but every person need to see their expense or they must need to focus their afford. However it is also a waste of money. Everybody must need to do fashion with their expense.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify social media and celebrities as influences, and you express a qualified view that fashion is acceptable “with some limitations.” These are relevant points, but the explanation remains limited and under-developed. For example, you say people see celebrities wearing styles and then want to buy them, but you do not explain how global trends spread across countries or provide a specific example. Your view is also difficult to follow: fashion is described as “well,” while the response repeatedly calls it a waste of money, without clearly weighing its benefits against its drawbacks. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation or example, and state your overall position consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic sequence: it introduces fashion, discusses social media and celebrities, describes spending, and ends with an opinion. However, progression between ideas is weak, and several points are repeated. The claims that people buy many dresses, wear them briefly, and waste money appear in both the second and third body sections. Linking phrases such as “So,” “In short,” and “However” are used, but they do not always show a clear relationship between the ideas; the final “However” introduces another statement about waste without resolving the contrast. Organise the response into distinct paragraphs for causes, effects, and your evaluation, and use references and transitions that make each step in the argument clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “fashion,” “trends,” “celebrities,” “social media,” and “waste of money,” so the general subject is clear. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less natural. Examples include “fashioned dresses,” “unnessacery dress,” “people became mad,” and “fashion is out.” Spelling errors such as “shoping,” “unnessacery,” and “unconcious” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider range of precise expressions for influence and consumer behaviour, and check spelling and collocations. For instance, describe trends as “popular” or “fashionable,” and say that people “overspend” or “discard clothes” rather than repeating “waste.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and attempts to combine ideas often contain frequent errors that can make the reader pause. Examples include “Fashion now become a part of people life,” “how people is dressed is totally depends,” and “everybody want,” which show problems with verb forms, agreement, and possessives. In “When people see to wearing different styles of dresses to celebrities,” the sentence structure and prepositions are difficult to follow. There are also faulty constructions such as “they had waste it” and “must need to focus.” Practise accurate basic clauses first, then add controlled complex sentences using “because,” “when,” and “although.” Check subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, articles, and sentence boundaries during revision.
