Student answer (Band 5.5)
Global fashion trends sparks a lot of debate these days, peoples dressing ways are totally influenced by global fashion trends which has a lot of reasons and the main reason is the access of digital meadia back in 90s people used to follow global fashion trends but the ratio of people was very specific,it has both negative and positive aspects.
Firstly i will disscuss the negative development of how the influence of global fashion has impacted peoples lives main aspect is that people have set thier standards just to follow the fashion trends they spend a lot of money, accessive money actually which i think can be used in a lot of different ways such to help poor and homeless or fund orphanage and old homes which are found all over the world, the second negative aspect is that vulgarity is promoted througout all these fashion trends.
Disscussing the positive impacts of fashion trends is that it is also quite helpful for differnt type of people to know that what kind of modern fashion will look good on them such as there are a lot of fashion shows organized all over the world for old,fat and disabled people which somehow i think has made their life easy and second positive aspect is the amount of dopamine released in their mind after completing the fashion trend, people fell important and happy after following what they see.
I have experienced both positive and negative impacts of these global fashion trends for example a few years ago i was quite interested in following all trends which i use to see on social media i use to spend a huge amount of money on clothing and shoes one day i saw a beggar with no shoes and torn clothes in winter which make me realised that there are some people who deserves more than these expensive brands.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the prompt by identifying social media as a reason global fashion spreads and discussing positive and negative effects. Your personal example about spending on clothes before noticing a person without shoes also gives the response a relevant, individual perspective. However, the explanation of how fashion became influential is brief: digital media is named, but its role in spreading trends is not clearly explained or supported with a specific example. Several effects, such as “vulgarity” and the dopamine released by following trends, are asserted rather than developed, and your overall judgement of whether this is positive or negative remains unclear. Develop the causes and effects more fully, and state a consistent position in the introduction and conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for negative effects, positive effects and personal experience. Signposts such as “Firstly” and “Discussing the positive impacts” help readers identify the topic of each section. However, progression is weakened by long, crowded sentences that combine several points, and the final paragraph gives an example without drawing the discussion to a clear conclusion. Some linking is repetitive or mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “the second… aspect,” while connections between claims are not always explicit. Organise each paragraph around one main idea, use sentence breaks to clarify supporting details, and add a concluding paragraph that brings your position together.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “social media,” “orphanage,” and “expensive brands,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “accessive money,” “fashion trends sparks,” and “people fell important.” Spelling errors, including “meadia,” “thier,” and “disscussing,” are also noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim to use more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the cost as “excessive spending” and explain that social media “exposes users to trends,” rather than relying on vague or incorrect phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses to explain reasons and examples, but control is inconsistent. Frequent errors in agreement and verb forms appear in phrases such as “trends sparks,” “which has a lot of reasons,” and “which make me realised.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also often faulty: the opening paragraph joins several independent ideas with commas, making the relationships difficult to follow. There is some use of complex structures, but these are often not formed accurately, and the range of sentence patterns remains limited. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate agreement and tense; use full stops to separate distinct points.
