Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that global fashion is a negative development, and you offer relevant reasons: social media and films encourage people to copy trends, while traditional clothing and cultural practices may be neglected. The examples of people choosing T-shirts and trousers instead of kurta sets help illustrate this concern. However, the task asks both how global fashion became influential and whether this is positive or negative. The first part is touched on through social media, films and friends, but these causes are listed rather than explained in depth. The negative position is clearer, though the discussion is repetitive and some claims, such as fashion damaging a country, need more specific support. Develop each reason with a clear explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the paragraphs broadly separate the causes of fashion influence from its cultural effects. This gives the reader a basic structure. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from social media to appearance, films and national development without clearly connecting these points. Linking phrases such as “On the other hands,” “As well as” and “Therefore” are repeated or used awkwardly, and “However” does not clearly show the relationship between the ideas that follow. Some references, including “one of them” and “all,” are unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain and exemplify it, using fewer and more precise transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “social media,” “influencer,” “culture” and “traditional dress.” These terms make your general subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “many people,” “fashion dress” and “global fashion.” Frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices—such as “weare,” “intrested,” “damage our social culture” and “flim lunched”—sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to interpret. Some combinations are also unnatural, for example “learn by friends” and “copying through” movies. Build a topic vocabulary bank and check spelling, word forms and common collocations; aim for precise phrases such as “adopt international styles” and “preserve cultural traditions.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example by using “when,” “then” and “although,” and you include both simple statements and more extended clauses. However, sentence structures are limited and many attempts at complex sentences are faulty, which can make the message hard to follow. Verb forms and agreement are frequent problems: “many people are depend,” “they are weare” and “they are think” should use forms such as “many people depend” and “they wear.” Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one clear subordinate clause. Check each sentence for a subject, a correctly formed verb and clear punctuation before adding further ideas.
