Student answer (Band 5.0)

LIVING IN THIS FAST PACED WORLD WHERE EVERYONE IS CONNECTED GLOBALLY. IT HAS BEEN OBSERVED THAT PEOPLE'S DRESSING ARE INFLUENCED BY GLOBAL FASHION TRENDS. IN MY OPINION, IT HAS BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ASPECTS. PEOPLE SHOULD FOLLOW THE DRESSING TRENDS AS IT HELP TO CONNECT WITH THE OTHERS. BUT MAKING IT COMPULSARY FOR ONESELF WILL HAVE NEGATIVE EFFECT ON LIFE.

IN THE PAST, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO CONNECT WITH THE PEOPLE. GIVEN THAT ADVANCEMENT IN THE TECHNOLOGY, OUR EARTH HAS BECOME A GLOBAL VILLAGE. THE PEOPLE STARTED CONNECTING WITH EACHOTHER, SHARING THEIR CULTURE, AND DRESSING STYLES.

ALTHOUGH SHARING EACHOTHER CULTURE THROUGH DRESSING HELPS IN SOCIAL INTERACTION, THE PEOPLE ARE FORGETTING THEIR OWN CULTURAL VALUES. IN ADDITION TO THAT, THE INDIVIDUALS SUFFERING FROM FINANCIAL ISSUES ARE NOT ABLE TO BUY NEW DRESSES DEVELOPED INFERIORTY COMPLEX.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a clear view that global fashion has both positive and negative effects, and you mention relevant points: cultural exchange can support social interaction, while people may lose cultural values or feel inferior if they cannot afford new clothes. However, the task is addressed only partially. The explanation of how fashion became influential is brief and focuses mainly on improved communication and technology; it needs a clearer account of mechanisms such as social media, celebrities, advertising, and international brands. Your evaluation also needs fuller development and examples to show why the benefits or harms matter. The response is 113 words below the required minimum, which leaves these ideas substantially underdeveloped. Extend each main point with explanation and a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall shape: an opening states your position, the next paragraph explains global connection, and the final paragraph introduces disadvantages. Linking expressions such as “Although” and “In addition to that” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is limited because the discussion moves quickly from technology to cultural exchange and then to affordability, without developing clear topic sentences or connecting each point to your overall judgement. Some links are also awkward or unclear, as in “sharing their culture, and dressing styles.” Use separate, focused paragraphs for the causes, benefits, and drawbacks, and make the relationship between each example and your argument explicit. This would create a more coherent line of development.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global village,” “cultural values,” “social interaction,” and “financial issues,” which allows the reader to understand your main ideas. There is also an attempt to use less common expressions such as “inferiority complex.” However, the range is limited, and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, including “people’s dressing,” “compulsary,” “eachother,” and “developed inferiority complex.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing fashion and influence, such as “international clothing brands,” “online influencers,” and “afford fashionable clothing.” Check spelling and use natural collocations when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, for example, “Although sharing eachother culture through dressing helps in social interaction, the people are forgetting their own cultural values.” This shows an effort to express contrast and cause. However, the range remains limited, and errors are frequent enough to affect clarity. The opening fragment, “LIVING IN THIS FAST PACED WORLD WHERE EVERYONE IS CONNECTED GLOBALLY,” is not a complete sentence, while “it help to connect” has a subject–verb agreement error. Other examples include “Given that advancement in the technology” and “the individuals suffering from financial issues are not able to buy,” where sentence structure and verb forms need attention. Practise complete sentences, agreement, and accurate clause construction, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
