Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, it has become increasingly evident that the way people dress today are greatly influnced by global fashion trends. I firmly believe in this statement because nowadays, people can be impressed easily by fancy designs of fashion clothes. From my perspective, the major reason is advertisement of these companies. I also believe that it has very negative impact on our society because it is one of the reason that dresses are very expensive now.
Over the past decade, global fashion has become very influential on the dressing of people. The major cause of this ongoing trend is, the development of advertisement industry. Companies are heavily investing in the advertisement of their brands. For this purpose, they are targetting tv shows, mobile apps and social media. Although it is a great startegy of marketing, but it is also influencing the people's dressing sense. For example, Khaadi, which is one leading brand of fasion dresses in pakistan. They are enormously investing on their product marketing through social media and TV. By investing so much money on advertisement, it has impacted our finincial condition and society negatively.
In today's modern buissness, marketing has become a very powerful tool for companies. They present their products with exaggerating claims but that comes with a great cost. Companies add these marketing cost in sales cost due to which, dresses are very expensive now. people are buying low quality dresses very expensive from fasion stores but you can buy same dress in a local market with very cheap price. For instance, Gucci bags are very expensive beacuse of its brand name and marketing costs, but you can buy same or even better quality bag from local market in half of that price.
To sum up this essay, I think global fassion are becoming more influential on people's way of dressing and the main reason is over marketing of dresses. Consequently, the prices of these dresses has grown so much in last few years.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify advertising as a reason global fashion influences clothing choices, and you clearly regard the development as negative because it raises prices. The examples of Khaadi’s promotion and Gucci bags help make your argument relevant. However, the explanation of how advertising changes people’s lives focuses mainly on marketing and cost; it could also explain how global media, celebrity influence, or international access to trends shapes what people choose to wear. The claim that local-market bags can be better quality is asserted rather than supported, and the conclusion mostly repeats the earlier points. Develop these ideas with clearer reasoning and more specific support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each body paragraph has a main focus, moving from advertising’s influence to its effect on prices, and examples are placed in relevant sections. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. For example, “Although it is a great strategy of marketing, but…” uses two contrasting linkers together, while “By investing so much money on advertisement, it has impacted…” leaves the reference of “it” unclear. The conclusion also repeats the central claim without adding a final implication. Use linking expressions more selectively and make references explicit so the progression feels less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “advertisement industry,” “marketing,” and “brand name,” so the reader can follow the main argument. However, the range is limited by repeated words such as “advertisement,” “expensive,” and “dresses,” and several word-choice or spelling errors reduce precision: “fasion,” “finincial,” and “buissness,” for example. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “dressing sense” and “with very cheap price.” Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated terms—for instance, use “clothing choices,” “promotional campaigns,” or “retail prices” where appropriate. Proofreading spelling and checking common word partnerships would make your meaning more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “Khaadi, which is one leading brand…” and a contrast clause beginning “Although…”. Meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction remain. In the opening, “the way people dress today are” should use a singular verb; “one of the reason” also needs a plural noun. The sentence beginning “Although” should not add “but,” and “people are buying…” starts with an incorrectly capitalised word after a full stop. Work on subject–verb agreement, article use, and punctuation, while keeping the complex structures you are attempting.
