Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response addresses the positive-or-negative part to a limited extent by presenting benefits such as confidence and drawbacks such as the cost of following trends. However, it does not answer the first question—how global fashion became so influential—so a major part of the task is missing. Your own position is also not clearly stated: the introduction promises an opinion, but the response ends before giving one. The examples about looking in the mirror and receiving compliments are relevant to confidence, but they repeat the same point rather than developing it. The response is also below the required 250 words, which limits how fully you can explain and support your ideas. Address both questions directly, state your view, and extend each main point with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: the introduction is followed by a paragraph beginning “On the one hand” and another beginning “On the other hand,” which signals a contrast between benefits and drawbacks. This gives the reader a basic route through the response. However, progression is limited because the first body paragraph repeats the idea of confidence in several forms, and the final paragraph stops mid-sentence (“a lots of financ…”), leaving the discussion incomplete. Some linking is also awkward or unclear, particularly “Demonstrates how this approach can be effective,” which is not connected smoothly to the preceding sentence. To improve, plan one distinct main idea per paragraph, use references and transitions accurately, and finish each paragraph with a complete explanation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “confidence,” “compliments,” and “financial” (begun in the unfinished final sentence). This is enough to communicate the general subject, but the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “supporter of to follow,” “cloths” where you mean clothing, and “ask them fro tips.” “Enhance your personality” is also not a natural way to express the intended benefit; “improve one’s appearance” would be clearer. Spelling errors such as “fasion,” “openion,” and “amoung” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for causes and effects, and proofread spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “global fashion trends which has huge impact” and a conditional structure beginning “when people dress according to…”. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to follow. For example, “the way people dress today are influenced” has subject–verb disagreement, while “it enhance your personality” shifts both agreement and pronoun reference. The sentence beginning “those who thought…” is incomplete, and the final sentence is cut off, so the argument cannot be understood fully. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “i will” and the comma before “other believe.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete sentence construction, and consistent tense and pronoun use before adding more complex structures.
