Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, fashion has become increasingly common in young generation. Global fashion trends play a vital role in changing fashion sense of people it also encourage indiviuals to dress well and according to modern trend. I believe that it is a positive development because it help society and individuals.

On the one hand, the primary benefit of acquiring global fashion is that it shapes individuals character and people often judge you by your dressing sense if you are not well dressed people can't treat you well. It also help you if you have a plan to move abroad because in foreign countries the people acquire clothes according to the global trend and if you are not aware of modern fashion trends it often creates problems. In addition, It also helps society to change their exsisting mindset and and acquire modern fashion. This is because elders always prefer traditional ways of fashion.

On the other hand, it also has some drawbacks. New generation have don't idea about their culture and traditional ways. They don't copy traditional fashion and it is vanshing day by day. For instance, in my country there are multiple culture and every culture has it's own fashion but the younger youth dont want to follow it. I believe that it can be solved by taking some steps like awareness about culture should be provided.

In conclusion, global fashion has some disadvantages but I believe that the advantages are more significant they are shaping individuals character and changing mindset towards modern fashion trends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that global fashion is positive, while acknowledging a drawback: the possible loss of traditional clothing. This addresses both the positive/negative question and includes a relevant example about cultural diversity in your country. However, the main question of how global fashion became so influential is not directly explained; the response focuses more on its effects, such as helping people dress well or adapt abroad. Several claims, including that people may not treat someone well if they are poorly dressed, are asserted rather than explained or supported. Develop the causes of its influence—for example, social media, celebrities, or international brands—and extend each main point with a specific explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but connections within sentences and between points are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, the first body paragraph moves from judging people by their clothes to moving abroad and then to changing elders’ mindsets without clearly showing how these points relate. Some references, such as “it” in “It also help you,” are not fully clear. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make each paragraph develop one central idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “traditional ways,” “modern fashion,” and “mindset,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “fashion has become increasingly common in young generation,” “acquiring global fashion,” and “the younger youth.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “indiviuals,” “exsisting,” and “vanshing.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe fashion as “increasingly influential among young people,” and use “adopting global fashion trends” rather than “acquiring global fashion.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if you have a plan to move abroad” and a reason clause beginning “This is because.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “it also encourage” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “New generation have don't idea” combines incompatible verb forms. Several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation, as in “people often judge you by your dressing sense if you are not well dressed people can't treat you well.” Practise accurate agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, and build complex sentences around one clear main clause.
