Student answer (Band 5.0)

This is very interesting topic to discuss. Nowadays, global fashion trends have a significant influence on the way people dress. Due to the development of social media, international brands, and online shopping, fashion styles can spread rapidly across the world. Although this development has some advantages, I believe that its negative effects are more significant.

There are several reasons that why the global fashion becomes influential. Firstly, the main reason is that people follows social media trends like instagram, Tik Tok and many other plateforms and also to follow celebrities. People adopt many fashions and trends from these plateforms. Secondly, many international brands promote their products through advertisement. So by this many companies move into top rated brands in international level. Many people buy dresses online through different websites. It is not mandratory to any person that they will go their. They shop online from different stores without going their.

It has many advantages but more disadvantages. The advantages is that fashion and trend allows people to express their personalities. People wear dresses of different cultures it also shows the different cultures. People wears different types of dresses they follows celebrities and adopt many different trends from their. When people saw to wear beautiful dresses to other they will be also wish to wear it.

If it has some advantages it also had many disadvantages. Global fashion has many disadvantages like people follows the trends they not thought that it will be good for their or not. People bought many unwanted or waste dresses. They only follows the trend and buy many waste dresses for theirselves. They wear it only one to two times and then waste it. So it is also a waste of money. One more thing is that people follows different cultures in the world.

In conclusion, I think it have both advantags as well as disadvantages so my opinion is that we not follows only trends or fashion we have also do fashion according to our religion. At the last, global fashion become a strong influence on people's lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you identify social media, celebrities, international brands and online shopping as ways global fashion spreads, and you give a clear overall view that its negative effects outweigh its advantages. However, the explanation is only partly developed. For example, you mention that brands advertise and people shop online, but do not explain in detail how these factors make trends influential in everyday life. Your positive points about self-expression and cultural clothing are also brief, while the negative point about buying clothes that are worn only once is more specific. The conclusion becomes less clear when it says fashion should follow religion, an idea not explained earlier. Develop each main reason with a clear example and keep your position consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the answer. However, progression within paragraphs is often repetitive or unclear. In the causes paragraph, the discussion moves from social media to brands and online shopping without showing how these points connect. Repeated patterns such as “people follows” and “people wear” also make the ideas feel circular rather than developed. Some references are difficult to follow, as in “They wear it only one to two times,” where the referent is not fully clear. Group related ideas, use pronouns with clear references, and explain the link between each point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “global fashion trends,” “international brands,” “celebrities,” and “online shopping.” There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as “express their personalities” and “waste of money.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “people,” “fashion,” “trends,” and “different.” Some inaccurate word choices and collocations make parts less natural, such as “top rated brands in international level” and “waste dresses.” Spelling errors, including “plateforms,” “mandratory,” and “advantags,” are noticeable. Build a wider set of precise expressions for describing influence, consumer behaviour and environmental effects, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although this development has some advantages” and a conditional structure beginning “If it has some advantages.” However, many sentences contain errors in basic grammar, and these sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “people follows,” “The advantages is,” and “people bought many unwanted or waste dresses,” which show problems with subject–verb agreement and tense consistency. Articles and sentence construction are also unreliable, as in “This is very interesting topic” and “we not follows only trends.” Practise accurate present-tense agreement, articles, and complete sentence patterns before adding more complex structures. Proofreading each sentence for its subject and verb would improve clarity.
