Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, the way people dress is strongly influenced by global fashoin trends. This is mainly because of social media, celebraties, and international brands. In my opinion, this is a partly positive development, although it also has some negative effects.
One significant reason for this trend is the widespread use of social media. people can see the latest fashoin platfroms such as facebook, instagram, and TikTok. As a result, they often try to copy the clothes warn by fashoin influencers. Another contributing factor is the growth of international clothing brands. These companies sell their products in many countries, allowing people to follow similar fashoin trends around the world. For example, young people in Bangladesh can buy fashoinable clothes inspired by styles from Europe and America.
I believe this development has both positive and negative aspects. One the positive side, global fashoin allows pople to explore different styles and express their personalities. If also gives them more choises when buying clothes. However, there were some disadvantages. Many people fell pressure to follow the latest trends, which can lead them to spend too much money on clothes. Moreover, some people fell ignore their traditional clothing order to look more modern. This could gradually weaken cultural identity. For instance, some yang people prefar foreign fashoin brands instead of wearing traditional cloths on special occasions.
In conclusion, global fashoin has become influential mainly because of social media and international clothing companies. Although its provide more choices and helps people express themselves, i believe individuals should follow fashoin trends wisely and continue to value their own culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response addresses both parts of the question: it explains the influence of social media and international clothing brands, and gives a balanced view of the effects. Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you see benefits, but believe people should follow trends wisely and value their culture. Relevant examples, such as young people in Bangladesh buying styles inspired by Europe and America, help support the explanation. The discussion of self-expression and pressure to spend also extends the evaluation. To strengthen the response further, develop the causes and effects with more specific explanation—for example, how influencers or advertising make trends appealing, or why traditional clothing may be displaced—rather than relying mainly on broad claims.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear, effective structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph weighing positive and negative effects, and a conclusion. Ideas progress logically, and signposting such as “One significant reason,” “On the positive side,” “However,” and “In conclusion” makes the argument easy to follow. The examples are placed alongside the points they support. Some connections could be made more precise: “If also gives them more choices” appears to refer to global fashion, but the reference is not fully clear, and the shift from the benefits to the disadvantages could be integrated more smoothly. Aim to vary linking expressions and use clear pronouns or repeated key nouns where needed, while retaining this strong overall organisation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses enough topic-related vocabulary to explain the main ideas, including “global fashion trends,” “international clothing brands,” “express their personalities,” and “cultural identity.” However, spelling errors are frequent and sometimes make reading less smooth: “fashoin,” “celebraties,” “platfroms,” and “cloths” recur or appear in key phrases. There are also inaccurate word choices and collocations, such as “clothing order” and “people fell pressure,” which reduce precision. The vocabulary is generally understandable, but the range and control are limited by repetition of “fashion” and “people.” Build a reliable set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully; use more precise expressions for influence, consumer pressure, and cultural change.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a conditional sentence beginning “If …” and a relative clause in “clothes … by fashion influencers.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur across sentence patterns and sometimes make relationships unclear. For example, “However, there were some disadvantages” shifts tense unnecessarily, while “Although its provide more choices and helps people” has problems with the subject and verb forms. The sentence “some people … ignore their traditional clothing order to look more modern” also needs a grammatical link before “in order.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase sentence openings and “i” in the conclusion. Practise accurate agreement, verb forms, and complete clause construction before adding more complex structures.
