Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years global fashion trends has influenced people in every aspect of how people dress today. This innovation is possibly due to the rising leverage of social media and from my perspective, it's a negative development.
Following global fashion trends has become a part of our generation and it influences individuals mainly who are in the community of social media. Everyone in this era is on social media platforms like Instagram which offers a variety of fashion trends, globally. That means every person has an equal opportunity to browse through those platforms and they took inspiration from the influencers. For instance, if a person is going to attend wedding, they immediately go to social platforms to search for latest trends. Another reason for following global trends is the influence of their favourite persons, people love to recreate look on them.
I believe, this is the negative development which greatly impact the lower class of our society. Although social media has changed the way we live, it particularly affects the middle class. To dipict that, in a society where individuals are following trends, there are certain people who can not afford to live up to the standard. They are going to face many challenges and eventually they will have low self-esteem. Therefore influence of global trends could possibly trigger many psychological factors.
In conclusion, the influence of social media has change the way people use to live and it triggers the harmful impact of following global trends. In my opinion, people should strike a good balance with the usage of digital devices to decrease its harmful impacts on individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: social media is identified as a key reason global fashion spreads, and your position that this is negative is clear. The examples of using Instagram to find wedding outfits and copying favourite personalities make the explanation relevant. You also explain a possible consequence for people who cannot afford fashionable clothing, linking this to self-esteem. However, the causes are not explored equally: the role of influencers is mentioned briefly, and the discussion could explain more specifically how online exposure turns trends into everyday choices. The negative effects are also somewhat general, with little detail about the scale or practical impact. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or a specific example to make the response more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from the causes of global fashion’s influence to its negative effects and then to a conclusion. Paragraphs have identifiable purposes, and linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Although,” and “Therefore” help show relationships between ideas. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Although social media has changed the way we live, it particularly affects the middle class” does not clearly connect the contrast to the claim about lower-income people in the next sentence. The conclusion also repeats the earlier point about harmful effects rather than drawing the argument together. Use more precise referencing and make the relationship between each claim explicit to improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “influencers,” “recreate,” “self-esteem,” and “psychological factors.” These choices allow you to discuss both the spread of fashion and its possible social effects. There are also some inaccurate or unnatural expressions that reduce precision, such as “rising leverage of social media,” “recreate look on them,” and “live up to the standard.” Spelling errors such as “dipict” and “favourite persons” also affect the naturalness of the writing. Aim for more accurate collocations and specific wording, particularly when describing how trends spread and the pressure they create. This would make your vocabulary more flexible and precise without changing your main ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if a person is going to attend wedding” and a concession beginning “Although social media has changed the way we live.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “global fashion trends has influenced” has subject–verb disagreement, while “it greatly impact” needs an agreeing verb form. Articles and verb forms also need attention in “attend wedding,” “they took inspiration,” and “the influence … has change.” The sentence beginning “To dipict that” is also awkwardly constructed, making the relationship between the ideas less clear. Check agreement, tense consistency, and article use, then proofread complex sentences to ensure their clauses are complete and clearly connected.
