Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowdays, people around world are wearing similar types of clothing because of global fashion trends and influenced by people. Social media, celebrities, and international brands who attracts people and who made the fashion popular worlwide. In my opinion, this is a negative development because it encourages unnecessary spending and reduces the importance of traditional fashion. Although, it has some benefits too, i believe the disadvantages are greater.
There are several reasons why global fashion has become popular. Firstly, social media platforms such as instagram, youtube allow people to see the latest trend and clothing styles worldwide. Secondly, celebrities and influencers encourage people to buy fashionable clothes. For example, many young people purchases clothes after seeing their favourite influencers wearing them. As a result, people in different countries often follow similar fashion, trends insted of developing their own styles.
I believe this trend has more negative effects than positive ones. Many people spend too much money to buy clothes because they want to follow the fashion trend. In my experience, i have seen young people become intrested in buying trendy clothes after watching it on Television or social media, even when they have enough clothes to wear. This can lead to unnecessary purchases and spendings. Moreover, people may gradually loss interest in their traditional clothing. The production of cheap, fashionable clothes also creates watse and harms the environment. Although global fashion provides more choices, these problems make it a negative development overall.
To conclude, i believe that the growing popularity of global fashion is negative development because it encourages unnecessary spending of money and that also affects the traditinal fashion. New generation can not able to understand the importance of traditinal clothing. From my observations, social media has a strong influence on young people. Therefore, people should follow fashion according to their needs and budget rather than copying others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you explain the influence of social media, celebrities and international brands, and clearly judge the trend to be negative overall. Your reasons—unnecessary spending, reduced interest in traditional clothing and environmental waste—are relevant. The example of young people buying clothes after seeing influencers is useful, and your personal observation adds support. However, some points are asserted more than developed: the role of international brands is mentioned in the introduction but not explained in the body, and the effect on traditional clothing could use a specific example or clearer explanation. Develop each main reason with a cause-and-effect link or concrete illustration to make the response more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining the influence, a paragraph evaluating its effects, and a conclusion that restates your position. Ideas generally progress logically, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover” and “To conclude” help the reader follow the argument. This already gives the essay a coherent shape. To make the progression more flexible and precise, avoid relying so heavily on explicit sequencing words and connect related ideas more smoothly. For example, the environmental impact could be linked directly to the discussion of frequent clothing purchases. Also, “Although” at the start of the second sentence in the introduction creates an awkward connection; integrate the concession into the sentence that states your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “influencers,” “traditional clothing,” “unnecessary purchases” and “harms the environment.” These choices make your main ideas understandable. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, as in “worlwide,” “insted,” “spendings” and “loss interest.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “fashion” and “clothes,” while “people around world” and “follow the fashion trend” are not expressed naturally. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, and vary repeated terms with suitable alternatives such as “apparel,” “styles” or “consumer spending.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession with “Although global fashion provides more choices” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms reduce accuracy. For example, “celebrities and international brands who attracts” has faulty agreement and an unsuitable relative pronoun, while “many young people purchases” should use a plural verb. The fragment “Although, it has some benefits too” also needs to be joined to a main clause, and “New generation can not able to understand” has an incorrect verb construction. Practise checking each sentence for a complete clause, correct subject–verb agreement and appropriate articles.
