Student answer (Band 6.5)
In recent times, the global clothing style dominates the outfit choices of people due to promotion through social media. I believe this is a negative development, as blindly following Western fashion could diminish the use of the traditional attire of different cultures across the world.
Social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, have became popular among young generation and they are significantly influenced by the content they encounter on social sites. Global brands promote their products through the social media influencers as their online posts can easily capture the attention of a large audience. As a result, majority of people are ended up following the Western clothing style and that has became a current trend. For example, a recent trend of wearing baggy jeans is a result of videos and photos of many influencers styling baggy jeans with shirts or tops as their everyday outfit.
However, according to my perspective, adopting a common dressing style all around the world may dilute the traditional clothing styles in different regions. The young people are generally not interested wearing the traditional dresses like sharee and salwar-kamiz as they consider the traditional style of clothing less fashionable. For instance, although the main dress of women in Bangladesh was sharee untill a few years ago, today's Bangladeshi women are less comfortable wearing sharee as a regular outfit and prefer western dresses like shirts and jeans as everday wear. This situation can lead to the extinction of our cultural identity in cloth which hold the regional history and heritage.
In conclusion, global fashion starts dominating people's choice of clothing as a result of social media and celebrity culture, but as far as I am concerned, following western clothing style is not a positive trend to adopt as homonization of clothing asthetic will potentially harm our cultural showcase through traditional clothing style.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your response addresses both parts of the question: you explain social media and influencer promotion as drivers of global fashion, and you clearly argue that this is negative because it may weaken cultural dress traditions. The baggy-jeans example supports the explanation of how trends spread, while the Bangladesh example makes the cultural concern concrete. These relevant points meet the task well, but some are not fully developed. In particular, the link between celebrity culture and people’s choices is mentioned mainly in the conclusion, and the claim that traditional clothing may disappear would be stronger with more explanation of how this change affects cultural identity. Develop the consequences and support each main point more evenly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs develop the causes and negative effects, and a conclusion restates your view. The progression from social-media promotion to changing clothing habits is easy to follow, and examples are placed in relevant paragraphs. Cohesion is sometimes less natural, however. Phrases such as “As a result” and “For example” help signal relationships, but “However, according to my perspective” is an awkward transition because the paragraph shifts from explaining the trend to evaluating its effects. Some references, such as “that” in “that has became a current trend,” are not fully precise. Use transitions that express the exact relationship between ideas and make references explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “global clothing style,” “influencers,” “traditional attire,” “cultural identity,” and “heritage.” These choices allow you to discuss both fashion promotion and cultural consequences, and the examples are generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, but some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “the global clothing style dominates,” “cultural identity in cloth,” and “homonization of clothing asthetic.” Spelling errors including “untill,” “everday,” and “asthetic” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe fashion as “influencing clothing choices” and refer to “cultural identity expressed through dress.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “As a result” and a concession structure with “although.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “have became” should be “have become,” “the young generation” needs an article or plural form, and “the young people are generally not interested wearing” requires “interested in wearing.” There are also errors in “majority of people are ended up” and “that has became,” where the verb forms and sentence construction are faulty. Work on verb forms, articles, and prepositions, then proofread each sentence for agreement and tense. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
