Student answer (Band 5.5)

As we are living in modern age, dresses has been modern too. Many people are influenced by global fashion trends now days. It has become a popular field where people recreate many fashinable things throughout the trends.

People are following global fashon trends regularly and also it is creating a positive impacts, but in some areas there are some negative impacts too. The postive development outreach the negative devlopment. So, it won't be any kind of problem.

I agreed with the statement that global fashion has become such a strong influence on people's live and it is also creating positive developments in time.

Though, people are following global fashion trends the outlook and the dressup sense is also getting changed for particular people. People used to were boot-cut pants and shirts in 90's. Basically it was the global fashion trend from that time. As per the time flew now people have shifted to new segments like, boys wore baggy pants with t -shits and girls wore western outfits. Due to global fashion trends they are watching different reels or videos on certain platforms like facebook, instagram, and tiktok from that they are acquring knowledge that how they can fit within the trend. It has also increased people creativity for wearing new things. As per global fashion trends each occasion has their particular outfit and also peoe are follwing the trends too.

On the other hand , it has also some negative impact too. Follwoing the trends people are just buying branded products, none is buying local prodcuts as, a result it hampers the employment availabilty of many people. Meanwhile some tradintional dresses like saree, panjabi are rare to be seen in this genaration. Duo to maintaing certain fashion trends people are forgeting about their cultural trends.

From chiildren to old people, everyone is influencced by the global faisahion trends. Follwing it, is not a bad thing but we should also not to forget about our traditional outfits and culture. Some people make their livelihood by making certain cloths in many countris.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify social media as a way global trends spread, and you give a mixed evaluation while concluding that the influence is mostly positive. The examples of changing clothing styles and the loss of demand for local products and traditional dress are relevant. However, the explanation of how fashion became influential is only partly developed: the references to Facebook, Instagram and TikTok could be linked more clearly to exposure, advertising or peer influence. Your positive case is also less specific than your concerns about culture and employment, and the opening claim that the development is positive is not fully reconciled with the later drawbacks. Develop each main reason and make the overall judgement consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to positive effects, negative effects and a concluding view. Paragraphing helps distinguish the two sides, and phrases such as “On the other hand” signal a contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several points are joined without clear explanation. For example, the paragraph about changing styles moves from 1990s clothing to current outfits, social media, creativity and occasion-specific dress. Some linking is repetitive or awkward, including “also” and “too,” while “Though” at the start of a paragraph does not clearly connect the point to the previous one. Group related ideas and use clearer references and transitions to make the argument easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “branded products,” “employment” and “traditional dresses,” so the reader can understand the main subject and examples. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “outlook” and “livelihood.” However, the range is limited and several spelling errors make the writing less clear, for example “fashinable,” “acquring,” “availabilty” and “tradintional.” Some word combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “positive impacts,” “outreach the negative development” and “dressup sense.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and avoid repeating “global fashion trends” when a clear reference such as “these styles” would work.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a contrast introduced by “Though” and a cause-and-effect explanation beginning “Due to global fashion trends.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “dresses has been modern,” verb form in “people used to were,” and sentence construction in “we should also not to forget.” Articles and plurals are also unreliable, as in “creating a positive impacts.” Punctuation and spacing around commas are inconsistent, and some long sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions and agreement, then build longer sentences around one clear main clause with correctly formed supporting clauses.
