Student answer (Band 6.0)

The way individuals choose fashionable dresses nowadays have numerous aspects driven by global fashion trends. This is mostly led by the involvement of individuals with mass media .I believe this has enabled a positive change for a lot of people to dress properly considering the global fashion trends. Thus contributing a positive development.Although, there are factors that needs to be considered while adapting to such trends like having limited capacity for the dresses.

Strong fashion has become a strong influence on individual's life given that every individuals are exposed to the use of social media which leaves a lasting effect on fashion trends. For instance, there are a lot of fashion contents where the content makers emphasize more on showing what sort of clothes they are wearing to various events . This has influenced many individual to follow the same fashion sense that they have adapted from others or some content creators. Moreover, this enables the ease of businesses to become more profitable through imports such as selling branded items to those who do not have the access to purchase from other countries. In addition, people feel more confident about how they dress nowadays and do not have to worry about falling behind the trend which can be backed by a recent trend of a movie named spider-man. Individuals jumped onto the trend and purchased a variety of clothes that resembled to spiderman. Although, this is not always possible for every individuals to adapt to every single fashion trend since trends are changing very rapidly and does not last long.

However, there are some drawbacks as well when refering to the influence of global fashion trends on how individuals dress in recent days. The major pointer would be the lack of acknowledgement of wearing the same clothes again and again. For example, an individual refrains from repeating clothes to multiple events rather they choose to buy new clothes everytime for different event owing to the effects of global fashion trends. As a result, this leads to financial irresponsible behaviour as a lot of money can be saved. Moreover, a great number of clothes pile up in the weardrobe that remain untouched for years.

To sum it all, I agree that global fashion trends influences individuals to dress nicely as it boosts their confidence and also creates a great public appearance even though it has some drawbacks. This has also enabled business to grow more rapidly given that people are purchasing a lot more than they used to.Thus, this factors contribute to a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: social media and content creators are presented as reasons global fashion spreads, and you give a clear overall view that its influence is positive despite drawbacks. Relevant examples, including branded imports and the Spider-Man clothing trend, help illustrate your points. However, the explanation of how fashion becomes influential is more developed than the evaluation of whether this is positive or negative. The benefits are asserted—confidence, appearance and business growth—but not fully weighed against the costs of rapid trend changes and unnecessary spending. The point about limited capacity for clothes is also unclear. Develop each main claim with a clearer explanation of its effects and make the final judgement more directly reflect the balance of advantages and disadvantages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph explaining the influence of media, a paragraph on drawbacks and a concluding position. Ideas generally progress in a sensible order, and examples are placed near the points they support. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. The opening uses several abrupt sentence fragments, including “Thus contributing a positive development,” and transitions such as “Moreover” and “In addition” sometimes connect ideas without showing their precise relationship. The conclusion repeats earlier claims rather than synthesising them, and “this factors” has an unclear reference. Use complete sentences, vary linking methods, and make the connection between each example and its main point explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “social media,” “branded items,” “confidence” and “financial irresponsible behaviour.” These choices make the subject clear, and some phrases show an attempt to express more specific ideas. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “fashionable dresses,” “Strong fashion,” “fashion contents” and “lack of acknowledgement of wearing the same clothes.” Repetition of “individuals,” “fashion trends” and “clothes” also limits flexibility. Spelling and word-form slips, including “refering” and “weardrobe,” further reduce precision. Aim for more natural topic collocations and use alternatives such as “people,” “garments” and “clothing styles” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including clauses introduced by “given that,” “since” and “although,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. Some errors in agreement, sentence boundaries and punctuation nevertheless reduce accuracy. For example, “the way individuals … have” should use a singular verb, while “every individuals are exposed” has a mismatch between “every” and the plural noun. “Although, this is not always possible…” is punctuated as a sentence fragment, and several sentences run together after full stops without spaces. There are also inconsistent singular and plural forms, as in “trends … does not last long.” Review subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries, and proofread punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
