Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, people are very much involved in setting new trends, however, the way people dress up recently, they are highly influenced by the global fashion ideas and has a major influence of fashion in their lives because they are more attracted towards it and have intrest and a huge crusity to try it. It is a negative dvelopment. Let us further delve into the topic.
To commence with, the fashion industry is growing rapidly and every ideas and design of a particular product easily become popular among the large poullation including the older generation because they are using the model in their advertisment who are very popular or those who have the face value all around the world, also print them in the fashion magzines . In result their ideas become centre of attraction and get so much hype in the market place.
On the other hand, when people see something trending either it is online or offline, they are easily fluenced by their marketing skills, however, they would like to try new trends which are popular in the society as soon as possible. Although in this way, fashion market have a strong impact on people lives. Some people in the community thinks it is a competition between them that how try the new trend first and this thing can create a stress in the mind and imoact our mental health in a long run.
To conclude it, i completely agree that it is negative development we should make sure that we don't need to follow the trend blindly because it was marketed by the famous actor or personalities. Every trend doesn't fit with every body type and if it doen't fit you well then you lose your confidence.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you explain how advertising, popular models and online or offline trends spread fashion, and you clearly state that you consider this a negative development. The point about competition creating stress and the effect of clothing on confidence is relevant. However, some explanations remain general or unclear. For example, the claim that designs become popular because advertisers use well-known models is plausible, but you could explain more directly how global media and brands expose people to the same styles across countries. The negative effects are also more developed than the benefits or broader consequences. Add a specific example and extend each main reason to show how it affects people’s choices or lives.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally move from the fashion industry’s promotion of trends to people’s responses and then to possible harm. Linking phrases such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand” and “To conclude” help signal stages in the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately: “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, although the paragraph continues explaining the same influence. Several sentences also contain multiple ideas joined together, making the progression harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and divide long sentences so each paragraph develops one main point in a more controlled sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “fashion industry,” “trending,” “marketing skills,” “competition” and “mental health.” These choices help communicate the subject and the writer’s concern. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the response less natural or occasionally difficult to understand. Examples include “huge crusity,” “large poullation,” “get so much hype” and “fluenced by their marketing skills.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “face value” for a model’s international recognition. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “curiosity to try new styles,” “a large audience” and “influenced by persuasive marketing.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise collocations would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when” and “although.” This gives the response some variety, and the main argument is usually understandable. However, complex sentences are not consistently controlled, and errors in agreement, verb forms, sentence boundaries and punctuation recur. For example, “every ideas and design … become popular” has a mismatch between the subject and verb, while “the way people dress up recently, they are highly influenced” combines clauses without a clear grammatical connection. In “Some people … thinks,” the verb does not agree with its subject. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them accurately; check subject–verb agreement and ensure each clause has a clear structure.
