Student answer (Band 5.5)

People these days are influenced by global fashion that portrays a huge impact on their lives. Although it has its own negative impact like fast fashion but its positives like cultural integration always outweighs the negatives.

Global fashion has a huge impact on people's lives through the influence of big brands lie Zara & H&M although all their production are mainly made in China and France. Yet they have created a huge impact on people's lives. As the global fashion makes it easier for people to navigate equally in one walk of life. As well as more production somehow would lead to more jobs production that will make more people employed as this will upgrade their life as well.

The positive development that this global fashion trends provides are the cultural integration as the highlights for example, korean city trends as well as scandinavian scarf trends were the most highlighted ones that leads to the cultural integration of people with them.

Whereas, the negative impacts is highlighted increasingly by the fast fashion trends. As people want more and more despite the fact that they have enough resources and stuff. Fast fashion includes luxury bags too such LV, Michael Kord and people upgrade them as if that is luxury and the older ones can't be used although the upgrade is not that needed. Its just waste of resources and money.

In conclusion, depsite all the negative influence of global fashion trends the positive influence is more, from integrating more people in the job market to cultural integration global fashion trends have their fair share of advantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you identify brand influence and employment as ways global fashion affects people, and you give a clear overall view that its benefits outweigh its drawbacks. The discussion of fast fashion and waste is relevant, and the examples of Korean and Scandinavian styles help illustrate cultural influence. However, the explanation of how fashion became so influential is only partly developed: naming Zara and H&M does not explain the mechanisms behind their reach, such as advertising, social media, or international retail. The employment point is also asserted rather than supported, and the positive-versus-negative comparison is brief. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation and a specific example to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, separate discussion of influence and positive and negative effects, and a conclusion that restates your position. This makes the main direction easy to follow. Some links between ideas are less clear, however. For example, “As the global fashion makes it easier for people to navigate equally in one walk of life” is difficult to connect to the preceding point about brands. Several transitions, including “As well as” and “Whereas,” feel mechanical or do not form complete links between sentences. The conclusion also repeats earlier claims rather than drawing them together. Use clearer topic sentences and make each paragraph progress through explanation and example; check that linking phrases accurately express the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “cultural integration,” “fast fashion,” and “waste of resources,” and these choices make your subject clear. There is some attempt to use more specific examples, such as luxury bags and regional styles. However, word choice and collocation are often imprecise, as in “navigate equally in one walk of life,” “more production,” and “the most highlighted ones.” Some expressions are repeated, particularly “huge impact” and “global fashion trends,” which limits flexibility. There are also spelling and form errors, including “lie” for “like” and “depsite.” Aim for more natural academic phrasing and check spelling and brand names; precise vocabulary will make your explanations easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in “Although it has its own negative impact … its positives … outweigh the negatives.” However, complex structures are often incomplete or inaccurately formed, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. “As the global fashion makes it easier…” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence, while “The positive development … provides are” has faulty agreement. Other examples include “all their production are” and “the negative impacts is.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, particularly where a full stop is missing before “Its just waste.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and punctuation during revision.
