Student answer (Band 6.0)
nowadays, many aspects of how indivduals dress are inspired by international fashion trends. With the help of social media and e-commerce it is quite easy to influence on a global scale. I believe it is a positive devolopment as people are not limited to few options.
In todays world, it is very flexible to promote a new design through digital channels. one such channel is social media applications such as instagram, facebook and youtube. This platforms are one of the major reasons for rise in such global fashion trends. For example, if a famous celebrity is spotted in a unique style, the very next moment it becomes an international trend to follow his or her dressing style. Many businesses specifically pay a known celebrity to were their brand, as this people inspire the masses.
The other postive development is quick access to multiple options by the help of e-commerce. Majority of the world today has access to a smartphones, on which a person from any corner of the map could order any particular product with-in few clicks. Furthermore, with the help of digital platforms it became more convinient for people to follow the trends and quickly adapt new style rather than limiting themself with limited options. For example, if a cool top is trending on amazon with good reviews, a number of individuals would like have the top. This directly influence people on day to day life.
In conclusion, It looks very clear that digital presence is directly proportional to trending fashion, which is quite impressive and a positive devolopment. Social media and e-commerce plays a major role for influencing the masses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you explain how social media and e-commerce spread fashion, and you clearly state that you see this as positive because people have more choices. The celebrity example supports the role of social media, while the Amazon example illustrates access to products. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that wider choice is positive could be developed by explaining how it benefits individuals, and the e-commerce example could show more clearly how online access changes people’s clothing choices. The response is relevant throughout, but the two main ideas are not equally developed. Extending the reasoning and adding a little more specific support would make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs focused on social media and e-commerce, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “For example,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” to connect points. Some linking is mechanical, however, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the two explanations together. There are also occasional unclear references, such as “This platforms” and “as this people,” which make the connections between ideas less smooth. To strengthen progression, use a wider range of natural transitions and ensure each example is explicitly linked back to the question of how global trends influence people’s lives.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “digital channels,” “celebrity,” “e-commerce,” and “adapt new style.” This gives you enough range to explain the main ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. However, several spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations reduce accuracy, including “devolopment,” “convinient,” “were their brand,” and “by the help of e-commerce.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “trend” and “options.” Aim to check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, such as “promote a design,” “wear a brand,” and “gain access to a wider range of products.” More precise vocabulary would make the explanation sound more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional phrasing in “if a famous celebrity is spotted…” and a relative clause in “a person from any corner of the map could order…”. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “This platforms are” should use a plural demonstrative and verb, while “a smartphones” has an article–number mismatch. In “a number of individuals would like have the top,” the verb pattern needs “would like to have.” Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, as in “one such channel” after a full stop and the comma spacing in “instagram, facebook.” Review these patterns while continuing to vary sentence structures.
