Student answer (Band 6.0)
Today, global fashion trends has made a significant impact on people's lives. Hence, People are often judged by their apparel. In my opinion, this trend is making a severe negative development. This essay will cover issues of how people lives are affected.
People avoid attending events because they do not have the current fashion clothes. This becomes problematic for a person, hence a person becomes less socially available, which leads to lonliness, stress and anxiety. Futhermore, many people that are not doing financially well often buys new clothes, garment or attire just to keep up with the global fashion trend. Celebrities plays a huge role in this trend, for example, a person often buys stuff when he or she gets to see an advertisement of a favourite celebrity promoting new trend.
Another reason is social media. Nowadays, people often spend a lot of time scrolling social apps which contains several advertisments. This leads to people instantly buying new fashion attire from online shopping. Furthermore, clothes or bags are often photographed and edited so well that when they are posted on social media, people gets attracted to it. When people buy them, sometimes they do not get what they ordered.
To conclude, we can't change global fashion trends, but a person should not be infulenced by it. Also, people should not be judged by clothes. Moreover, people should avoid getting attracted to their celebrity when it comes to their attire because a celebrity's job it to promote things. Finally, people should always be happy for what they have and should not attract to new fashion trends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You give a clear negative position and address both parts of the question: you discuss how celebrity promotion and social media spread fashion, and describe effects such as social pressure, financial strain, and disappointment with online purchases. These are relevant ideas, but some are not fully explained. For example, the point that people avoid events because they lack fashionable clothes would be stronger with a specific explanation of how trends create this pressure. The discussion of online shopping focuses on misleading product images, but its connection to global fashion’s influence could be made clearer. To develop the response further, explain the mechanisms behind the influence and support key claims with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The body paragraphs also group related points, with celebrity influence in the first and social media in the second. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Another reason,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections feel mechanical, and “hence” is used where the relationship between ideas is not fully clear. The introduction promises to cover “how people lives are affected,” but does not clearly preview the causes asked about. In the conclusion, several recommendations are added without being linked back to the main reasons. Use clearer referencing and make each paragraph’s central point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trend,” “apparel,” “socially available,” “advertisement,” and “online shopping.” This allows you to discuss social pressure, promotion, and purchasing. There are also attempts at less common wording, such as “garment or attire,” although these alternatives are repetitive in context and “fashion clothes” is not a natural collocation. Several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “lonliness,” “Futhermore,” “advertisments,” and “infulenced.” The phrase “attracted to their celebrity” is also unclear. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than listing near-synonyms; for example, “keep up with fashion trends” is more idiomatic than “keep up with the global fashion trend.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some longer structures, including clauses with “because,” “which,” and “when,” so the response shows a mix of sentence forms. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some errors in agreement and verb forms remain. For example, “global fashion trends has” should use a plural verb, while “many people … often buys” and “Celebrities plays” need plural agreement. In “people gets attracted,” the verb should agree with the plural subject. The final sentence, “should not attract to new fashion trends,” also has an incomplete grammatical pattern. Review subject–verb agreement and verb complements, and proofread longer sentences to improve accuracy.
