Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear positive view in the introduction and conclusion, and you address both how global fashion spreads and whether it is beneficial. Social media, celebrity influence, fashion shows and advertising are relevant explanations, while the Diwali example helps illustrate how promotion can affect clothing purchases. However, the discussion of how fashion becomes influential is stronger than the evaluation of its effects. Benefits such as self-expression and learning about cultural styles are mentioned, but they are not explained in much depth, and the claim that trends help people “look different” is not fully supported. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or specific example, and consider acknowledging a possible drawback before reaffirming your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally have a central focus, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Apart from this” and “To sum up” make the overall direction easy to follow. Some connections, however, feel mechanical, and the opening moves abruptly from social media to a list of unrelated areas before returning to fashion. Within paragraphs, several ideas are joined in long sequences with “and” or “so,” which makes their relationships less clear. Use linking phrases that show cause, example or contrast, and make sure each sentence develops the paragraph’s main point. Clearer referencing would also help readers follow who “they” refers to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “branded,” “advertise,” “cultural values” and “express their personality.” These choices communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and some wording is repetitive, particularly “cloths,” “people” and “different.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “thigs,” “Hugh amount,” “suites them” and “positive energy and good vibes”; these can distract the reader or make the intended meaning less precise. Aim for more accurate collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, use “clothing” or “outfits” where appropriate, and describe the influence of advertising more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses explaining reasons and examples, but control is uneven. Errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation are especially noticeable: “which includes, fashion…” is a fragment, and “today a Hugh amount…” begins a new sentence without appropriate capitalisation. There are also recurring problems with agreement and sentence patterns, as in “social media play crucial role” and “it is positively impact.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret the message. Practise building accurate subject–verb structures, using articles and pronouns consistently, and separating complete sentences with full stops. Once these basics are more secure, you can use complex sentences more confidently.
