Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, the world is continuously changing in every aspects including the global fashion trends. Global fashion trends strongly infulence on people's lives. They change the way of dress acordance with fashion trends. In my opinion, these thrends have both positive and negetive impact.

The way people dress during important occasions significantly improves their confidence. Changing the type of dress along ongoing trends help to gain confidence in public as well as the working environment. It directly helps to improve persnonality, while helps to handle difficult situations with positive energy. For example, if someone wear a trending appropriate dress in a conference, that person can deliver speach or work with confidence. The dress is act as a sheild, because that dress can generate positive vibe in the situation. Furthermore, wearing trending dresses helps to gain attention in public as well as workplace. Other people may remeber those dresses eventhough they cannot remember the person. It encourages society to remember that person.

On the other hand, following ongoing fashion trends has a negetive impact too. The most important fact of fashion is it changing continuously. If someone tries to follow everything, it leads to waste money and time. Additionally, some styles may not match to everyone. People may not be able to identify matching dress types to them due to ongoing change. That can develop frustration. For instance, if someone tries to change a dress with ongoing fashion trends it will lead to inapropriate money consumption.

In conclusion, global fashion trends can strongly influence on people's lives. It can be positive or negetive. However, it depends on people's selection. So, the best thing is to find own fashion sense rather than adapting to global trends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that global fashion can have both positive and negative effects, and you discuss confidence and the costs of keeping up with trends. However, the task also asks how global fashion became such a strong influence, and this part is largely not explained: the essay focuses on effects rather than causes such as social media, advertising, or international brands. The positive points about confidence and attracting attention are relevant, but the example of a conference outfit is brief, and the claim that others remember the clothes more than the person is not clearly developed. The negative side is also general. Addressing the causes directly and explaining each main idea with a specific example would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for positive and negative effects, and a conclusion. The contrast between the two body paragraphs is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “It encourages society to remember that person” does not clearly follow from the preceding point, and “It” in the conclusion has an uncertain reference. Ideas within paragraphs could also progress more logically: the positive paragraph moves from confidence to attention without clearly connecting the two. Use clearer referencing and explain how each supporting point relates to the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “confidence,” “working environment,” and “frustration,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “influence on people’s lives,” “type of dress along ongoing trends,” and “inappropriate money consumption.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “infulence,” “negetive,” and “remeber.” Aim to learn natural collocations for discussing fashion and consumer behaviour, and proofread spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you express the causes and consequences of global trends without repeating broad terms such as “dress” and “fashion.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if someone wear…” and a clause with “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to interpret. For example, “Changing the type of dress along ongoing trends help to gain confidence” has problems with the subject–verb relationship and sentence construction, while “The dress is act as a sheild” uses an incorrect verb form. Other examples include “They change the way of dress” and “some styles may not match to everyone.” Practise accurate verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence patterns, then check each sentence for a clear subject and main verb. This will make your ideas easier to follow.
