Student answer (Band 6.5)
Fashion trends across the globe have made significant variations in the way people dress themselves today. The reason attributed to this, is the modern lifestyle, which has notably affected how people live nowadays. According to me, this signals a negative development as the old culture and traditions are substituted by the rapid modernization, resulting in vanishing cultural aspects in the modern society.
The world fashion of dressing has made a robust impression on the lifestyle of people. In current time, modern day clothing typically includes shirts, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, pajamas and other fashionable items. This has been believed to be originated from the English-speaking countries like U.S.A, Britain, and Australia. At the time, when these civilizations were actively spreading their influence across the world, it resulted into various cultural and traditions' exchanges. For instance, during the British Ruling period in India, people had started wearing this modern type of clothing, slowly replacing the cultural attire of Indian citizens, which has actively continued till today. To the date, many Indian celebrity wear fashionable clothing inspired from American Hollywood Industry.
Even though, this modern fashion has spread harmony and unity among the people as they don't tend to judge each other by their caste or culture that they follow, the issue of cultural disappearance has made its way to enter into our present day society. A case of this can be seen in Gujarat state of India, where Gujarati people used to wear traditional attire of dhoti-kurta (for men) and Gujarati saree (for women). It has nearly vanished from present day, except nowadays, they only wear the traditional clothing during only some special occasion. As a result, moral and ethical values associated with this culture can hardly be seen, that are followed.
In conclusion, English-speaking countries have spread their influence, that had given birth to this modern day clothing, that is almost omnipresent on this planet. Although, it has brought harmony and unity among different cultures, vanishing cultural aspects like moral values and ethics associated with the culture are actively leaving our modern day society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your response addresses both parts of the question: you explain the influence through the spread of Western clothing and historical cultural exchange, and you clearly judge the development as negative because traditional dress and associated values are disappearing. The examples from India and Gujarat make the discussion relevant. You also acknowledge a benefit—greater harmony and less judgement based on culture—which gives the argument some balance. However, the explanation of how fashion became influential is narrower than it could be: the essay mainly attributes it to English-speaking countries and colonial history, without developing other mechanisms such as media, advertising, or international brands. The link between traditional clothing and the loss of moral or ethical values is asserted rather than fully explained. More precise development of these points would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your position, the body paragraphs discuss the spread of global clothing and its cultural effects, and the conclusion restates the main view. The examples generally appear in relevant places, and phrases such as “For instance” and “As a result” help signal relationships between ideas. At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. The second paragraph moves from a list of clothing to its supposed origins and then to colonial history without fully explaining each transition. In the third paragraph, “Even though” introduces a concession, but the sentence is long and the contrast is difficult to follow. Clearer links between claims and examples, along with more precise referencing, would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “global fashion,” “cultural attire,” “traditional clothing,” and “cultural disappearance.” Some less common choices, such as “robust impression” and “omnipresent,” show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, several word choices or collocations are unnatural or imprecise, including “significant variations” for changes in clothing, “modern day clothing” repeated several times, and “made its way to enter.” Some phrases also obscure the intended meaning, such as “moral and ethical values associated with this culture can hardly be seen, that are followed.” Aim for more natural collocations and avoid repeating broad terms when a precise alternative is available. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including relative clauses and concessive sentences, as in “Although, it has brought harmony and unity…” and “which has actively continued till today.” This shows some range, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms remain noticeable. For example, “The reason attributed to this, is…” has an unnecessary comma, while “it resulted into various cultural and traditions' exchanges” has problems with the preposition and noun structure. In “many Indian celebrity wear,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “during only some special occasion” has issues with word order and number. The long sentence beginning “Even though” is also difficult to control. More accurate clause construction and agreement would improve clarity.
