Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays fashion have become an important aspect in our lifes, as it is way to represent ouselves and it develops our personality. I partially agree with this view as although it became us modernized and fashionable, it may increases the risks of forgetting our culture and traditions.
On the one hand, it plays a crucial role in our daily lifes. As in most of the places people personality is get judged by their clothes and it give them a positive attitude. For example, in many worplaces you need to well dressed and updated as it represents your personality. Moreover , some jobs such as actors ,influencers and others needs to be fashionable in order to maintain their work. In addition, it is a good way to exchange cultures across different countries. For example, by seeing different clothes people get knowledge about their traditions and it makes them friendly to each other.
On the other hand, fashion trends have a big negative impact on people as well. Fashion trends had created a society, in which people are forced to buy such expensive clothes. In order to be updated with people and not to feel left out they buy such clothes without their willing ness to do so. It also affect the environment negatively, as fashion is updated within a few weeks or months , due to this people throw their clothes and buy clothes after a few time. This results in the production of large number of clothes which is affecting our weather gradually, as more and more factories need to be made leading to pollution. Additonally, it have can cause a big change in our culture. As people start buying fashionable clothes, which have made them loosing their original identity and traditonal wear which they use to wear in past.
All in all it can be concluded that, fashion trends help us in making stylish and confident, but it have many drawbacks as well. In my opinion, people should be modernized but they should take the responsibility that it should not be forced and should be done in limit that it did not affect our environment and do not make us people who do not have any knowledge about our cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you discuss fashion’s influence and give a qualified view that it has benefits but also risks. Your points about workplace expectations, cultural exchange, pressure to buy expensive clothes, environmental effects and loss of traditional identity are relevant. However, the explanation of how global fashion became influential is less fully developed than the discussion of its effects; for instance, you could explain the role of social media, advertising or international brands in spreading trends. Some claims also need clearer support: the link between clothing production, factories and “our weather” is asserted rather than explained. Develop the causes and examples more precisely, and make your overall position consistent from introduction to conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the shift between benefits and drawbacks, and the ideas generally progress in a sensible order. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger organisation. However, several links feel mechanical or unclear: “As in most of the places” does not connect smoothly to the preceding claim, while repeated “For example” and “In addition” make the paragraph feel list-like. Some sentences beginning with “As” are fragments or awkwardly attached to the previous idea. Use clearer topic sentences and vary linking methods, while ensuring each reference such as “it” has an unmistakable meaning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate a range of ideas, including “global fashion trends,” “expensive clothes,” “environment” and “original identity.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “exchange cultures” and “traditional wear.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “fashionable” is repeated, “updated with people” is unclear, and “affecting our weather” does not express the intended environmental impact naturally. Spelling errors such as “ouselves,” “worplaces,” “Additonally” and “traditonal” are noticeable. Build a more accurate range of collocations for discussing influence, consumer pressure and environmental consequences, and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“although…”) and cause-and-effect structures in the discussion. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “fashion have become,” “it give them,” “some jobs… needs,” and “it have can cause.” The sentence beginning “As in most of the places” is also incomplete or awkwardly connected, and the final sentence contains several clauses whose relationships are difficult to follow. Work on subject–verb agreement and consistent verb forms, then check each long sentence for a clear main clause. More accurate control of these structures would make your argument easier to read.
