Student answer (Band 6.0)

Fashion trends are getting popular globally and people are following them in their daily life routine. This has become so popular in todays world, highly influencing the youth specificlly yound adults and adults of age between 15 to 35. I believe it is a good thing that individuals are not lacking behind in the world and following every new trend.

Technology played an important role in making such trends popular all around the world. For instance, if a celebrity showed up in a newly designed dress on red carpet, it will become a headline of news. Following be the popular social media pages, that outfit will become popular in every corner of the world. People will start finding similar outfits like that for themself. This also shows, how easily today's generation gets influenced by something which is popular. Not only for outfits but also for beauty products, shades, footwear, and even underwears.

However, not everyone supports the new fashion trends specially older residents of some countries of southern asia. The believe that youngsters who are following the new fashion trends does not respect the culture and slowely with them their culture will vanish in thin air. Because, new fashion sometimes asks to show your body which is not allowed in some religions, consequently older people think that such thing can happen.

In conclusion, i would like to say that it is an individual choice what they want to wear and what they don't, if someone is feeling joy in following recent popular fashion they should do it regardless of what others think.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: technology and social media are presented as reasons global fashion spreads, and your conclusion makes your view clear that following trends is a positive matter of personal choice. The celebrity-on-the-red-carpet example helps explain how a style reaches a worldwide audience. However, the positive evaluation is not fully developed: the opening says people are “not lacking behind,” but you do not explain what practical or personal benefits this brings. The paragraph about older people and cultural concerns is relevant, yet its connection to your own position could be made clearer. To strengthen the response, explain more directly why global fashion benefits individuals and respond to the concern that it may weaken cultural traditions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, moving from your position to an explanation of fashion’s spread, then to a contrasting concern and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and examples such as celebrity coverage support the central explanation. Some links are less smooth or precise, however. “Following be the popular social media pages” does not clearly show the relationship between news coverage and social media, while “This also shows” has an unclear reference. The contrast introduced by “However” is useful, but the final paragraph does not explicitly reconcile cultural concerns with your view of personal choice. Use clearer transitions and refer directly to the ideas being connected.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “red carpet,” “social media pages,” and “culture,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “influenced” and “vanish in thin air.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “daily life routine,” “not lacking behind,” and “popular in every corner of the world.” Spelling errors such as “specificlly,” “slowely,” and “todays” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural phrasing and check spelling carefully; a wider range of precise expressions would make the explanation more fluent and convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple sentences and some more complex forms, including a conditional example beginning “if a celebrity showed up” and a reason clause introduced by “Because.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “the believe” should be “they believe,” and “youngsters … does not respect” needs subject–verb agreement (“do not respect”). The conditional sequence “if … showed up … it will become” shifts tense inconsistently, and “what they want to wear and what they don't” would be clearer with parallel phrasing. Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, particularly “i” and the comma in “This also shows, how.” Practise accurate agreement and consistent conditional forms while retaining sentence variety.
