Student answer (Band 5.5)
Fashion is the becoming more common in this modern era. Many people believe that the way people dress nowadays are influenced by global fashion trends. In my opinion, the strong influence of global fashion on people's lives is a positive development.
To commence with, fashion is a very important part of everyone's life as it represents the personality of a person. It is the matter of everyday observation that on social media the fashion is becoming so common that it influence people is many ways. To illustrate, my social media feed is full of global fashion and i have been influenced by the different kind of trends and fashions. Moreover, global fashion has also infuenced man designer brands with numerous kind of new trends. For example, one of my favourite designer brand has started a new collection of new trends according to the global fashion which fascinated me to buy them. Furthermore, global fashion has provided a wide sense of thinking and creativity. To substantiate my point their is a great competition in the market for the new fashion trends, every modern designer is influenced and bringing a new innovation and creative designs which are providing a great competition in the market.
On the contrary, some people believe that global fashion is not that great to be influenced of it. As we all know, some people think that fashion is just waste of money and time. For instance, my father also thinks that fashion is waste of money and time and he also likes to buy anything that looks good on him despite it's out of trend. In the same manner, some people feel that fashion is making people minds overwhelmed and stress. Such as, some people take stress of repeating clothes and that it will be irrespectful for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear view that global fashion is a positive development and give relevant examples, including social-media influence and a designer brand creating a trend-based collection. However, the task asks both how global fashion became influential and whether this is positive or negative. The response mainly explains that fashion appears on social media and affects designers, but does not fully explain the wider mechanisms, such as international brands, advertising, or online access. The positive case is also asserted more than developed: creativity and competition are mentioned, but their benefits to people are not clearly explained. The opposing view is included, yet the essay ends without a conclusion that reaffirms your position. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation and a specific consequence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, a paragraph supporting your view, and a paragraph presenting opposing opinions. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “On the contrary” help signal relationships between points. However, progression within the main paragraph is uneven: social media, designer brands, and market competition are listed without clearly showing how one leads to the next or supports the positive judgement. Some transitions are mechanical, and the final paragraph introduces objections without resolving them. References such as “their” in “their is a great competition” also make the connection less clear. Organise each paragraph around one central claim, then explain and illustrate it, and add a brief conclusion to complete the overall progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “designer brands,” “creativity,” and “innovation,” and these choices make the subject clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “To substantiate my point.” However, several expressions are inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “fashion is becoming so common,” “numerous kind of new trends,” and “a great competition” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “inf uenced” (written as “infuenced”) and “irrespectful” are noticeable, and repeated use of “fashion,” “trends,” and “some people” narrows the range. Aim for accurate collocations and vary how you refer to styles, influence, and consumers.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “as,” “that,” and “which.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, errors occur across sentence types and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “Fashion is the becoming,” “the way people dress nowadays are influenced,” and “it influence people is many ways”; these show problems with articles, agreement, and verb forms. There are also faulty constructions such as “some people take stress of repeating clothes” and punctuation issues in longer sentences. Work on building accurate basic clauses first, then extend them with subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries during revision.
