Student answer (Band 5.5)

Fashion is not a word, it is an industry which is growing in every country in the world. Every country has its own culture, identification ,fashion sense and fashion industry.

Although the concept of fashion trends are adopting form many and many years but now a days it become essential for everyone whether boy or girl everyone is becoming crazy towards fashion industry and their trends.

Instagram and other social media plays vital role to promote these global fashion trends.

Morever, people has a very strong impact of these fashion industries and their continous trends on everyone's life despite of any age.

Teenage or Gen Z are observed more attractive and influenced to these fashion trends. People are so obsessed with every new trend without even thinking whether it is making any sense or not?

However, these global fashion trends has positive and negative impact on society depending on different factors, like "How do they look when you wear them?" " Are these religious or not?" " Does it relate to your culture or not?" .

Unfotunately in this 21 century, people are going crazy to be a part of that race where everyone is trying to apdopt that global fashion trends which are not really good and not relates to our culture. On the other hand these trends have positive impact on our society as well. Like its my personal experince that Maria B is one of the fienst and talnted fashion designer who presented and proved her brand internationally. Her collection is so alligh to our pakistani culture and promotes religious values and ethics. She influenced positive impact for those fashion trends and tried to prove herself to be a successfull fashion dsigner not only in pakistan but also worldwide. She is the practical example for everyone those who tries to adopt the correct fashion trends and make their career strong in that field.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you identify social media as a driver of global fashion and present both positive and negative effects. The example of Maria B also supports the idea that fashion can promote Pakistani culture and provide a career model. However, the response only partially develops the explanation of how fashion became influential. Instagram is named, but the role of influencers, advertising, or international brands is not explained. Your position on whether this is positive or negative remains unclear: you describe cultural imitation as harmful, then praise culturally aligned fashion, without stating which overall view you hold. Develop these points with specific reasoning and finish with a direct, consistent judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the opening introduces fashion, the middle mentions social media and young people, and the final section considers positive and negative effects. However, the progression is difficult to follow because ideas are placed in a sequence of short, loosely connected statements rather than developed in clear paragraphs. The transition “However” introduces both sides, but the discussion then shifts abruptly from cultural concerns to Maria B. Linking phrases such as “For example” and “In contrast” would clarify these relationships. Group the explanation of fashion’s influence in one paragraph and the evaluation of its effects in another, with a concluding sentence that brings your position together.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “social media,” “culture,” “religious values,” and “fashion designer.” These terms help communicate the subject and show an attempt to discuss both cultural influence and the fashion industry. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. For example, “crazy towards fashion industry” and “strong impact of these fashion industries” are not natural expressions, while “adopt” is repeatedly used where a more precise verb could describe following or embracing trends. Spelling errors such as “continous,” “experince,” and “successfull” also detract from control. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for influence, consumer behaviour, and cultural identity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex structures, including the opening clause beginning “Although” and the sentence contrasting positive and negative effects. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. For example, “the concept of fashion trends are adopting” has faulty agreement and verb form, while “Instagram and other social media plays” uses an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “Unfotunately in this 21 century” also becomes difficult to manage as several ideas are joined together. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
