Student answer (Band 5.5)

Today's interconntected world, by the influence of fashion trends, people has changed the way how they dressed. Through the technologies, including advetisement took place a great inflence on people's lives. I firmly believe that, this is a negative developemet because people purchase unnecessary things, thoes afftects their financial well-being.

Today's global fachsion has influenced and compelled to peoples to meet their requirments with high-class peoples. This is largely because, every brand, that provides a facility to buy clothes in a large number of varity, wants to highlight its products across all other brands. Therefore, they advertise their products on social media plateforms, attracting the people's attention. As a result people go to these brands to buy cloths. For example, new university going students wants to gain attraction through their clothes and appreance.

I strongly believe that this is a negative development because people buy those clothes they do not need at all and spend a considerable amount of money without any proper reason. Moreover, some companies runs separate websites for their reputation and to gain a large number of sales. For instance, students belongs to low-income families can not afford this and causes to the financial instability of low-income families.

In conclusion, global faction is attracting people's attraction by running ads on different social media plateforms and also by running channels on youtube. This is a wholly a negative innovation that effects on individuals mindset. Additionally, these social media campings have compelled to peoles to meet the requirements of todays faction trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you explain that advertising on social media helps global fashion influence people, and you clearly state that you consider this negative because it encourages unnecessary spending and can harm low-income families. The examples about university students and families with limited incomes are relevant. However, the explanation of how fashion became influential is narrower than the task invites: advertising is mentioned, but the role of global connectivity, celebrities, or international brands spreading trends is not explored. Some points also need clearer development; for example, the claim that brands make people meet the requirements of “high-class peoples” is difficult to understand. Develop each reason with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and a more specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The main position is easy to identify, and linking expressions such as “Therefore,” “As a result,” and “Moreover” help show relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from brands advertising to students seeking attention, then to company websites and family finances without fully connecting each step. Some transitions are also mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the advertising and spending points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer topic sentences and make each example explicitly support the paragraph’s main claim. Check references such as “these” so readers can readily identify what they refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion,” “social media platforms,” “financial well-being,” and “low-income families,” which helps communicate the central ideas. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow: “interconntected,” “advetisement,” “faction,” and “attracting people’s attraction” are examples. Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “meet their requirements with high-class peoples” and “a large number of variety.” Aim for accurate collocations and avoid repeating “attraction” and “requirements.” Learning phrases such as “keep up with trends,” “influence consumer behaviour,” and “financial strain” would help you express these ideas more naturally and precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a result structure beginning “As a result.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “people has changed” needs subject–verb agreement, while “students wants” and “some companies runs” also have mismatched subjects and verbs. In “students belongs to low-income families can not afford this and causes,” the clause structure and agreement are faulty. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add a subordinate clause; check each subject against its verb and use punctuation to separate introductory phrases.
