Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's evoloving world, the issue of fashion trends have become a matter of considerable public interest, promoting widespread debate regarding its impact on individuals and society. While some people believe that it's a negative impact as it keep people away from islamic culture, others argue that it's a trend that we should follow as a part of this advance world. I firmly agree that it has a negative impact on young generation, as it a evident that it tends to promote see-through clothes and restrain people from their religion which make this approach considerably beneficial.

One of the primary causes that makes global fashion influence is that people of this generation are trying to follow every possible trend. This has a significant impact on individuals and society because people tend to wear inappropriate clothes that are strictly prohibited in Islam. As a muslim, the way people dress nowadays influence others life who are trying to follow the religious path. Accroding to a recent study, around 85% of young community are adapting lifestyle of an international community, whose culture gives them right to wear various kinds of clothes. However, recently I saw a show named Laam fashion week, which disappointes me to an extent. In that show, designers were promoting body revealing clothes.

Although wearing inappropriate clothes not only influence our society, mit also restrain people from their culture. This negative development promotes hatred among people, esspecially when a woman wear this type of clothes. People start to critice opposite gender for this action. For instance, I live in a Muslim community which allows me to wear appropriate clothes, while staying in limits. This term doesn't declare that there is any kind of restriction on me. It means that I respect my relegion and the boundries that has given me.

Ultimately, clear evidence suggest that limits should imposed on this trend which primarily reinforce this stand point. Consequently, embracing this perspective contribute to long-term development and overall well-being of individuals and society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear negative view, especially in the opening and conclusion, and you include relevant examples such as the fashion show and your experience in a Muslim community. However, the task asks both how global fashion became influential and whether this is positive or negative. The explanation of influence is limited mainly to young people following trends; you could develop other causes, such as social media, celebrities, advertising, or international brands. Your negative position is also supported mostly through concerns about religious dress and social criticism, while the claim that fashion “restrain[s] people from their religion” needs clearer explanation. The response therefore addresses the main parts, but several ideas remain general or insufficiently developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The first body paragraph focuses on why people follow global trends, while the next develops your concerns about cultural and religious effects. Linking phrases such as “One of the primary causes” and “Ultimately” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are unclear or mechanical. For example, “Although wearing inappropriate clothes not only influence our society, mit also restrain people” does not form a clear contrast, and the relationship between the study, the fashion show, and your main point could be made more explicit. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion,” “international community,” “body revealing clothes,” and “long-term development.” This gives you some capacity to discuss culture and social effects. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make meaning less clear: “evoloving,” “disappointes,” “critice,” and “boundries” are misspelled, while “restrain people from their religion” and “this approach considerably beneficial” are not natural or precise in context. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “people,” “clothes,” and “trend.” Aim to use accurate collocations and vary key terms—for example, distinguish between fashion trends, clothing styles, and cultural norms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You try to use both simple and complex structures, including a contrast in the introduction and clauses beginning “because” and “while.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “the issue of fashion trends have become,” “as it keep people,” and “which make this approach”; these show problems with subject–verb agreement. Other issues include “as it a evident,” “a woman wear,” and “limits should imposed,” where articles, verb forms, or auxiliary verbs are missing or incorrect. Punctuation also needs attention, as in “society, mit.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject, correctly formed verb, and complete clause.
