Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era, it is asserted that individuals dressing sense is totally changed due to global fashion trends and how this trend influenced a lot on people lives. In my perspective, it is a negative development and i will justify my viewpoints in the forthcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, there are myriad rationales why it is a negative development. Predominately, this trend is totally wastage of money and increase the burden on people. To explain, trending items are quite expensive and some people cannot afford to buy. However, childrens are compel their parents to buy for themselves which is increased the financial burden on parents as well as some items are not that much usable so it is totally wastage of money. Thus, buying fashionable items is not a viable decision.
Additionally, this trend is increased the pollution. To elaborate, synthetic materials are not biodegradable and toxic water pollution from textile dyes increased pollution which is not good for the environment. Moreover, this tendency destroy the cultural values if people are more influenced by global fashion because traditional clothes are converted into western culture which will be promote bad impact on cultural values. Therefore, strong influence on fashion is not good thing for the ecosystem and tradition.
To recapiltulate, i restate my opinion, people dressing style is attracted by global fashion trends. Whereas, trending products are expensive due to this it increases the financial burden and promotes bad impact on environment by using the items without any specific needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your position is clear: you consider global fashion a negative development, and you give relevant concerns about household costs, pollution and cultural values. However, the task asks both how global fashion became so influential and whether this is positive or negative. You explain your negative view, but do not really address the first question: there is no account of the causes, such as social media, advertising, celebrity influence or international retail. The supporting points are also brief; for example, the claim that children pressure parents is not illustrated or developed, and the cultural impact is asserted rather than explained. The response is one word below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, cover both questions explicitly and extend each main point with a clear explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs group related concerns, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Additionally” and “To recapiltulate” help show the intended progression. This gives the reader a coherent route through your argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and the conclusion repeats earlier points rather than bringing the argument together. Connections within sentences are occasionally unclear, particularly in the first body paragraph, where the ideas about affordability, children’s demands and waste run together. The contrast marker “Whereas” in the conclusion also does not introduce a clear contrast. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim and its explanation more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “financial burden,” “synthetic materials,” “biodegradable” and “cultural values.” These choices make your main concerns understandable, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “myriad rationales,” “totally wastage of money,” “toxic water pollution from textile dyes increased pollution” and “bad impact.” There are also spelling and word-form slips, including “Predominately” and “recapiltulate.” These do not generally prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and fluency. Aim for natural combinations such as “a waste of money,” “increase pollution” and “have a negative impact,” and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including explanations introduced by “To explain” and clauses beginning with “because” or “if.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “this trend is increased the pollution” should use a suitable present-tense form, while “children are compel their parents” has an incorrect verb construction. In “which is increased the financial burden,” the clause is also not grammatically formed. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and missing spaces after commas. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and check each sentence for a complete, correctly formed main clause before adding extra information.
