Student answer (Band 5.5)

To look classy has always been one of the priorities of Human Biengs. To cater this need, different fashion trends have been getting introduced over the time. Some fashion trends gained immense popularity while others just got obsoleted wit the passage of time. The most important feature of any fashion trend is that it can come back any time and people would love to start wearing something aligned with that fashion trend which they considered out of fashion at some point of time. Following these trends the global fashion has become a great influence on everyone's lves regardless of country and culture.

In one way this development is positive. 2 to 3 decades back not everyone had the fashion sense although they could afford. But now the social media and social netwroking sites have given a huge boom to different fashion trends. Another positive aspect of the globalisation is that fashion trends are not merely limited to a certain class now but it is accessible to almost every part of the world equally. This has also produced opportunities for people who can make good replicas of different wearables and sell it on lower prices so everyone can afford it. For example, in south asian countries you can find very good replicas of Addidas shoes' at very economical prices. so people fulfill their desires and try to fit in the fashion trends by just spending a little amount of money.

But on the other hand this globalisation has also some negative impacts on the society. the most important one is useless spending of money on the products which are of no use for oneself but just bought to showoff. this show off culture has hit the middle class of the society hard. The people of this class are always busy in making themselves perfect to survive in a specific circle. Another negative impact it has created is that people have started spending most of their time on finding new fashion trends which surely is not a good thing. There are ten million other things need to reflect upon in the society currently going on.

so in conclusion, everything and every trend looks good in limited style. if it gets out of the ropes it will effect society negatively.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you identify social media and networking as ways trends spread, and you discuss positive and negative effects before giving a qualified conclusion. The example of affordable Adidas replicas supports your point about wider access. However, the explanation of how fashion became influential is only partly developed; explain more directly how global brands, online influencers, advertising, or international media expose people to trends. Several claims, such as that people spend too much time finding trends, are asserted rather than supported. Your position is broadly that the development has both benefits and harms, but the conclusion that trends are good only “in limited style” does not clearly state which side you consider stronger. Develop and clarify these points to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for positive and negative effects, and a conclusion. The contrast between “In one way” and “But on the other hand” helps signal the two sides, and the example is placed with the point it supports. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the opening discussion of trends returning to fashion does not lead clearly into the explanation of their global influence. Some links are mechanical or unclear, and “There are ten million other things need to reflect upon” feels disconnected from the preceding point. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting detail explicitly to the main idea; ensure the conclusion synthesises the arguments rather than introducing a vague final claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “fashion trends,” “globalisation,” “replicas,” and “showoff culture,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “immense popularity” and “economical prices.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “Human Biengs,” “obsoleted,” “lves,” and “netwroking.” Some expressions are awkward or imprecise, such as “cater this need,” “fit in the fashion trends,” and “out of the ropes.” Repetition of “fashion trends” and “positive/negative impact” also limits range. Aim for accurate collocations and more precise terms, while proofreading spelling and avoiding phrases whose meaning is unclear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “although,” “which,” and “so,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited and complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “To cater this need” lacks the required grammatical construction, while “There are ten million other things need to reflect upon” is missing a clear clause structure. There are recurring errors in articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “the most important one is useless spending” and the lower-case sentence openings after full stops. Some sentences also combine several ideas without secure punctuation. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check each sentence for a complete subject and verb, correct articles, and appropriate punctuation.
