Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent decades, global fashion trends have come to dominate the way people dress across the world. This phenomenon is primarily driven by the rise of mass media and the expansion of multinational retail chains. While this trend fosters cultural integration and offers affordable clothing options, it also poses significant threats to local traditions and the environment.I believe this is a neutral development, as the advantages of globalized style are precisely offset by the loss of cultural heritage.
On the one hand, teenagers are influenced by fashion trends, spread through movies, social media platforms like facebook, instagram and snapchat. Companies sponser well known people to promote their fashion products for their company growth and introduce new trends. People started making videos to earn some money, about latest fashion trends and reviewing fashion products on socail media, which increases the fame and popularity in public.
On the other hand, This latest fashion trend became threat to an Asian countries. Youngsters started showing interest towards these trends and unwilling to wear traditional dresses therefore, western cultural focus on proper fitting of clothes and posture and small sized clothes, hence this leads to bodyshaming and negative impact on low tier places. Poor people cannot efford these fashion products and some companies started making cheap fashion products this results in massive usage of cheap products that effects environmental degradation, water pollution, allgeries and excessive textile waste.
In conclusion, global fashion has become highly influential due to digital connectivity and rapid commercial distribution. It simultaneously threatens traditional identities and harms the planet. So people need to educate and balance the effects of latest trends

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you identify social media, films and retail companies as drivers of global fashion, and you present a balanced view that ultimately calls the development neutral. The discussion of influencers and online fashion videos is relevant, while the effects on traditional clothing, body image and the environment provide a clear range of consequences. However, the position is not fully consistent: the introduction says the benefits are offset by cultural loss, but the body also raises environmental harm without weighing it against the benefits. Some points, such as cultural change in Asian countries and the impact on poorer people, need clearer explanation or a specific example. Develop the comparison behind your neutral conclusion more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from causes to consequences is generally clear, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the discussion. However, the contrast is somewhat mechanical, and the second body paragraph combines several effects—traditional dress, body image, affordability and pollution—without clearly separating or linking them. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the move from clothing sizes to “low tier places.” Use topic sentences to group related ideas and add explicit explanations of how each example supports your position. The conclusion should also resolve the tension between calling the trend neutral and describing substantial harms.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “multinational retail chains,” “cultural integration,” “traditional identities” and “textile waste.” These choices show an attempt to discuss fashion’s social and environmental effects beyond basic description. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, however, such as “a threat to an Asian countries,” “low tier places,” and “massive usage of cheap products.” Spelling errors, including “sponser,” “socail” and “efford,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural phrasing and check spelling carefully; for example, describe the effects on “lower-income communities” and say that cheap clothing “contributes to” textile waste. This would make your ideas more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including the contrast introduced by “While” and the cause-and-effect explanation beginning “Poor people cannot…”. Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “This latest fashion trend became threat to an Asian countries” has problems with tense, article use and singular/plural agreement; “Youngsters started showing interest… and unwilling to wear” lacks a parallel verb structure; and “So people need to educate and balance” is incomplete in its intended meaning. Capitalisation after sentence boundaries is also inconsistent, as in “On the other hand, This…”. Review articles, agreement and verb patterns, and divide long sentences where several ideas are joined. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
