Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many aspects of the way people dress today are influenced by global fashion trends. I consider this a positive development towards people's lives. The evolution of technology also has a great impact on fashion trends in people's lives.
A dres is used only as a protective cloth for the human body. Initially, only the leaves from plants and trees were woven to be used as a dress, which has now evolved into different kinds of fabric, from cotton to nylon, including both natural and synthetic fabrics. Earlier, the body was covered by separate clothes, like pants and trousers for the lower part and shirts and tops for the upper part. But the evolution of the human brain led them to innovate new varieties in fashion technology. Hence, not stopping with simple dress, they fabricated various kinds of designs in clothes. It also makes them comfortable while wearing. Nowadays, people make a dress code for a particular occasion to make it more obvious. For example, a formal suit is preferred for a business meeting, a sari is preferred for the festive seasons, and a Western dress is preferred for holiday plans, etc. It makes people's lives easier than before, as they can wear comfortable clothes to the places they want. To make it more obvious, the fashion of people varies from region to region. Not everyone follows traditional and cultural looks in all places. Each region has its own dress code for certain occasions.
Not all development are positive, there might be possibility of having negative development as well. Likewise, these fashion trends also have some negative development. It makes few people to cope up with the evolving fashion trends. It will not reach all parts of the region. Some people are left unknown. Increase in trends needs to beneficial to all people, then only it is called to be global trends.
Hence, we can conclude that global fashion trends have more positive impact on society but it needs to be improved to make it available for all sorts of people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall view that global fashion is mainly positive, and you acknowledge a drawback: some people cannot keep up with changing trends. However, the task asks specifically how global fashion became such a strong influence, and much of your discussion instead describes the historical development of clothing and the usefulness of occasion-specific dress. The role of global influences—such as social media, international brands, celebrities, or online shopping—is not explained. Your examples of suits, saris, and Western clothing are relevant to dress, but they do not clearly show how trends spread globally. The negative point is also brief and unclear. Develop both the causes of influence and the effects, supporting your position with more specific explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, a longer body paragraph, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion, so there is some basic organisation. The examples of clothing for different occasions also give the main body a recognisable focus. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the discussion moves from early clothing materials to fashion innovation, comfort, dress codes, and regional differences without showing how these points connect to global influence. Linking phrases such as “Hence,” “Likewise,” and “To make it more obvious” are repetitive or do not clearly express the relationship between ideas. The final paragraph repeats the positive position but adds little synthesis. Group related points and use clearer transitions to guide the reader through causes, benefits, and drawbacks.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “natural and synthetic fabrics,” “fashion trends,” “dress code,” and “traditional and cultural looks.” These choices help communicate the general subject, and there is some attempt to use less common terms such as “fabricated” and “evolving.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “protective cloth,” “positive development towards people's lives,” and “Increase in trends needs to beneficial.” “A dres” also contains a spelling error, while “dress” is repeated frequently where more precise terms could be used. These issues do not prevent the main message from being understood, but they limit precision and fluency. Build a wider set of natural collocations for discussing influence, access, and consumer behaviour.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “which has now evolved into different kinds of fabric” and a contrast introduced by “But.” Most ideas remain understandable, but errors occur in agreement, articles, verb patterns, and sentence construction. For example, “Not all development are positive” has a number-agreement problem, and “It makes few people to cope up” uses an incorrect structure after “makes.” The sentence “Increase in trends needs to beneficial to all people” also has problems with the subject, verb form, and infinitive construction. Some sentences are long and joined loosely, which makes relationships between clauses harder to follow. Practise accurate complex sentences and check agreement and verb patterns when editing.
