Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify a positive view and give a relevant reason: fashion may help people feel included and build confidence, particularly among young people. You also briefly acknowledge a possible drawback, namely social division linked to money. However, the response addresses the task only partially: it does not explain how global fashion became influential, and the positive and negative points are not developed with examples or explanation. The final sentence, “The fashion are not only”, is unfinished, leaving the discussion incomplete. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, so there is not enough material to develop either part of the question. To improve, explain causes such as social media or international brands, then support your view with a specific example and a clear conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening states a positive position, and “To commence with” signals the start of a supporting paragraph. The ideas about confidence and feeling included are broadly related. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the first paragraph introduces both a benefit and a drawback without explaining their relationship, and the second paragraph stops mid-sentence. The connector “Though” introduces a contrast that is not completed or developed. Use separate paragraphs for the causes of global influence, your evaluation, and a conclusion; connect each point with clear references and transitions. Completing each paragraph and showing how its ideas support your position would make the organisation more coherent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “fashion trends”, “influence”, “inferiority complex”, “competitive” and “confidence”. These choices show an attempt to express ideas beyond very basic language. However, several phrases are imprecise or unnatural, such as “influential on how the people dress”, “the living of the people”, “the urge for money” and “make the division in the society”. “Current demands of the society” is also vague in this context. These word-choice and collocation problems sometimes make the intended meaning less clear, and the short response offers little opportunity to demonstrate a broader range. Aim for precise expressions such as “influence the way people dress”, “people’s lives” and “create social divisions”.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “Though” and a reason introduced by “Because”. Some meaning is understandable, but control is uneven. For example, “Because it allows all to be more competitive” is a sentence fragment, while “The fashion are not only” is unfinished and has a subject–verb agreement error. In “those who live according to the current demands of the society, are those”, the comma separates the subject from its verb unnecessarily. The opening also contains awkward article use in “how the people dress”. Practise completing subordinate clauses and checking agreement, articles and punctuation. A wider range of fully formed sentences would make your ideas easier to follow.
