Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you identify social media, celebrities and international brands as reasons for fashion’s influence, and you give a clear overall view that it is positive despite some drawbacks. The points about cultural exposure and pressure to buy expensive clothes are relevant, but they are only briefly explained; for example, you do not show how learning about other cultures benefits people or give a specific example. The opening repeats the task wording rather than developing your response. The response contains 209 words, so it is 41 words below the 250-word minimum; the 33 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop each main point with explanation or an example, and make the positive-versus-negative judgement more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Your response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph weighing effects, and a conclusion. The conclusion also returns to the main reasons, which helps the reader follow your overall message. However, progression within the body is uneven. The first body paragraph moves from social media to celebrities and then brands, but the links between these points are basic, and the sentence about expensive clothes is difficult to follow. Connectors such as “secondaly” and “Moreover” signal addition, but the sequence feels list-like, while “However” introduces a contrast without developing it. Use clearer topic sentences and organise each paragraph around one purpose, with linking phrases and references that make the relationship between ideas explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “social media,” “international brands,” “branded clothes,” and “clothing styles.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or inaccurate word choices make the writing less clear, such as “infulanced,” “latests trend,” “tranding clothes,” and “setiesfied.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “the encourages people wear” and “strong influencer.” Aim to learn accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions for influence, consumer behaviour and cultural exchange would help you explain your ideas without repeating “fashionable clothes” and “trends.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently, particularly in verb forms, agreement and sentence construction. For example, “people are play the social media” and “people is easily see” do not form accurate clauses, while “it provide more choice” has an agreement error. The opening question also ends with “developmen.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, including the lower-case “people” after a full stop and “i” in the conclusion. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses using patterns such as “because” and “although.”
