Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that trending global fashions have influenced the way individuals dress today in different aspects. I firmly believe that the global fashion trends has bring negative development on people's lives.
The first reason why I hold this opinion is that not everyone has the money to buy clothes every months. The fashion trends are dynamic and changes every months. For example, a wealthy person have money and can buy any clothes that they like whether it is weekly or monthly. On the other hand, an average person might not have the funds to buy clothes to catch up to the trending clothes. This might bring problems such as insecurity, social anxiety to that person because he simply don't have the clothes as others wear.
Furthermore, the changing global fashion trends has broaden so much that people are unwilling to wear traditional clothes that reflects their culture, history , traditions, etc. People are forgetting about their identity, background, culture and histories. Following these global fashion has made people ignore the importance of wearing traditional clothes. This pattern will result in extinction of different cultures and traditons. Moreover, the younger generation will also be unaware of how their traditional clothes look like.
In conclusion, the global fashion trends has significant negative developments that outweigh the positive developments on people's lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you consider global fashion a negative development, and you give two relevant reasons—financial pressure and the possible loss of cultural identity. The example contrasting a wealthy person with an average person helps illustrate the first point. However, the task asks both how global fashion became so influential and whether this is positive or negative. You mainly discuss its negative effects and do not explain the sources of its influence, such as social media, advertising, or international brands. The cultural argument is also asserted rather than supported with a specific example. The response is 29 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop both parts of the question. Addressing the causes and extending your examples would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “The first reason,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. The contrast between wealthy and average people is also signposted with “On the other hand.” However, some connections are mechanical, and the second body paragraph moves quickly from traditional clothing to identity, cultural extinction, and younger generations without showing each link in detail. There is also repetition of “global fashion trends” and “people” across the response. Use clearer referencing and develop the relationship between each claim and its consequence to make the flow more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “insecurity,” “social anxiety,” “traditional clothes,” and “identity,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “outweigh the positive developments.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive: “trending global fashions,” “catch up to the trending clothes,” and “the changing global fashion trends has broaden” do not sound natural. “Traditons” is misspelled, and “clothes” is repeated where more precise terms could help. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for influence and consumer behaviour, and check spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the causes and effects of fashion trends.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “This might bring problems … because…” and a contrastive sentence beginning “On the other hand.” These structures help communicate your reasoning. However, some errors recur in subject–verb agreement and verb forms: “trends has bring,” “a wealthy person have,” and “trends … changes.” There are also problems with plurals and determiners in “every months” and “any clothes,” as well as the pronoun agreement in “he simply don't have.” Punctuation and spacing are occasionally inconsistent, for example around “history , traditions.” Review agreement, verb forms, and singular/plural patterns, then proofread each sentence while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
