Student answer (Band 6.0)

Global fashion culture has been influencing people's fashion sense in recent days. This growing trend is mostly achieved through strong commercial advertisements, global actors, fashion models and social media. In my oponion, it has a overall positive development in shaping people's lifestyle and views.

Global super models and influencers can be held most accoutable for this significant upgrade in fashion world. Poeple easily get affected by what these influencers wear. Notably, presentation plays an important role here, as they try to potray global fashion icons as the standards of fashion world. Many superstars, for example,

Moreover, televsion programmes, movies and advertisements present new fashion trends among general people. These trends are then adopted and naturally blened into certain culture over time. Bangladeshi women, for example, have showed huge affection for dresses inspired by Indian TV serials in recent years.

There are several positive sides of this increasing adoption to worldwise fashion. Firstly, people can come out of traditional old-school clothing sense they usually follow. In addition, inclusion of different global fashion ideas can enrich cultural , as these ideas mix into existing local culture over time. This is easily visible in Bangladesh also, european clothing styles, such as bootcut pants, directly influenced young generation of 80's and 90's by motivating them to wear it, a trend that is also observed in today's generation as well. However, too much integration may result in loosing society's own identity, which is one of the major drawbacks of growing fashion adoption.

In conclusion, while global fashion trends tend to influence people's ideas about fashion through commercials, supermodels and cultural integration, it offers cultutral diversity, out of the box fashion sense as positive aspects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify advertising, celebrities and social media as influences, and you give a generally positive view while acknowledging the risk of losing cultural identity. The examples of Bangladeshi women adopting styles seen in Indian television and of European clothing influencing younger generations help make the discussion relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. The paragraph about influencers ends with “Many superstars, for example,” but provides no example or completed explanation, and the benefits of “coming out of” traditional clothing are not made specific. Develop these ideas by explaining how the influence works and why the benefits matter, while keeping your position consistently clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on causes and effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Moreover,” “Firstly,” and “In addition” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression is sometimes interrupted. “Many superstars, for example,” is left unfinished, and the next paragraph begins without resolving that point. Some links between ideas are also unclear, particularly the move from cultural enrichment to the example of bootcut pants. The conclusion repeats the main points but does not fully draw together the positive view and the stated concern about cultural identity. Complete each example and use clearer links to show how each one supports the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “influencers,” “cultural integration,” and “society’s own identity.” These choices help communicate the subject, and phrases such as “old-school clothing sense” show an attempt to use less common language. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “strong commercial advertisements,” “fashion adoption,” and “enrich cultural,” which appears incomplete. Spelling errors such as “oponion,” “accoutable,” and “cultutral” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe advertising as “widespread” or “persuasive,” and specify what cultural life or diversity is enriched.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a trend that is also observed in today’s generation” and a concessive structure beginning “while global fashion trends tend to influence…”. Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors and incomplete constructions affect clarity. “Many superstars, for example,” is a sentence fragment, while “Bangladeshi women… have showed” has an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “it has a overall positive development” and “This is easily visible in Bangladesh also, european clothing styles…”. Review verb forms, articles, and punctuation, and ensure each sentence has a complete, clearly connected clause.
