Student answer (Band 5.5)

In todays world, the constant change in designing clothes are impacting people minds, which has a strong effect in their lifestyle. In my opinion is helping our soceity to devolope positively however, I also believe that it also has some disbenifits.

Because of modern fashion products the clothings become more affortable and long lasting. In the past, people used to were simple outwears to cover their body. During that time, the nations couldn't produce enough textile because of shortage of row materials and manpower. After indestrial revulation the textile companies started mass production of textiles which had another problem. The people wasn't encauraged to buy these products without necessity. So the companies invented fashion products which was strong, cheap and durable. As a result the common folks were able to purchase and wear them in a regular basis.

On the other hand, the global fashion is theratning the production of treditional outfits and our cultural identity. The competition between fashion industries is constantly bringing up more and more new designs which is creating unnatural demands of products resulting in less demand for treditional clothings. With less demands the supply of ethnic products shrinks. As a result, the local market faces a backslash and the small sellers and businesses suffers. In addition, it theratens our culture and identity.

To conclude, the global fashion trends helps

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions by explaining how mass-produced fashion became affordable and by discussing its possible harm to traditional clothing and cultural identity. However, the explanation of how global fashion became influential is only partly developed: the account of industrial production does not clearly explain how trends spread globally or shape people’s choices today. Your position is also not fully clear. The introduction calls the development positive, but the body gives substantial attention to disadvantages, and the conclusion stops at “the global fashion trends helps” without completing your judgement. The response is also below the required 250 words, which limits the opportunity to explain and support your ideas. Develop the causes more directly and finish with a clear, supported overall view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and an attempted conclusion. The contrast signalled by “On the other hand” helps readers follow the shift from affordability to cultural effects, and “As a result” shows cause and effect. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph moves from past shortages to industrial production and then to companies inventing fashion products, without clearly connecting these points to the global influence asked about. The final paragraph is incomplete, so the essay has no resolved ending. Some linking is also mechanical or repetitive, particularly the repeated “As a result.” Organise each paragraph around one clear point and use explicit links between the explanation and the task.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “mass production,” “textile,” “cultural identity,” “competition,” and “ethnic products.” These choices show some ability to discuss both economic and cultural effects. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors make the writing less clear, such as “soceity,” “affortable,” “indestrial revulation,” and “theratning.” Some word combinations are also unnatural, including “unnatural demands” and “wear them in a regular basis.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas easier to understand and help you express distinctions more precisely. Avoid repeating broad terms such as “products” and “fashion” when a more specific noun is available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some longer sentence forms to explain causes and consequences, for example, “After indestrial revulation the textile companies started mass production of textiles which had another problem.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine clauses often contain errors that make relationships unclear. Examples include “the constant change in designing clothes are impacting people minds,” “the people wasn't encauraged,” and “the global fashion trends helps.” There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, especially in the opening sentence, where the contrast introduced by “however” is not properly punctuated. Practise subject–verb agreement, possessives, articles and clause punctuation, then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb. More accurate control of these basics will make your complex ideas easier to follow.
