Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear positive view in the opening and conclusion, and you offer relevant examples about older people feeling more confident and fashion creating work. However, the response only partially answers the question: it says little about how global fashion became influential, beyond a brief reference to social media, and the positive effects are not explained in enough detail. The grandfather example is relevant, but the account is difficult to follow and does not clearly show how global trends affected him. The discussion of employment is also asserted rather than supported. The response is four words below the required minimum, and the limited development makes the answer feel incomplete. Explain the role of social media, celebrities, and international brands, then develop each benefit with a clear example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The paragraphs also have identifiable themes, moving from older people to employment in the fashion industry. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear because several ideas are joined into long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the second paragraph shifts from older people’s confidence to ridicule, your grandfather, and social media without clearly showing the links. Connectors such as “which” and “also” are repeated and do not always clarify what they refer to. Use shorter sentences, give each paragraph one main point, and use precise links such as “For example” or “As a result” to show how evidence supports that point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “fashion trends,” “social media,” “fashion industry,” and “working opportunity.” This shows an effort to discuss both social and economic effects. However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make the message difficult to understand, such as “fashing,” “encourging,” “sitituion,” and “pressional.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “boosting their confident” and “developing in fashion trends.” These problems sometimes strain the reader, which limits the precision of your ideas. Build a reliable set of topic phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully; for instance, use “boosting their confidence” and “creating employment opportunities.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses, as in “people who make fun of old people” and “which also open lot working opportunity,” but sentence structures are often incomplete or difficult to control. The opening sentence contains several clauses without clear boundaries, and the second body paragraph is largely a run-on sentence. Verb forms and agreement are also frequently inaccurate, for example, “Many people are discussings” and “it give excitement.” Articles, plurals, and punctuation are often missing or misused, making relationships between ideas unclear. Practise writing accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check subject–verb agreement, past and present forms, and sentence boundaries before combining ideas.
