Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the present scenario, most of the individuals are highly admiring and choosing the dressing sense according to the fashion trends across the world. Global fashion is leaving an strong impact on today's generation due to strong marketing strategies of fashion industry and the increasing influence by social media on public. In my opinion, I believe there are both pros and cons of this development but I consider it is a negative development.
To begin with, Fashion industry is influencing many individuals due to its increasing commercialisation. Many big brands are launching their products worlwide and use advertisements for promoting their articles. They hire well-renowned personalities such as actors, sportsperson and others for their endorsement purpose which attracts many users to purchase the same article worn by their favourite star. Furthermore, social media is also playing a major role in influencing public to select the fashion trends popular in the market. For instance, some dress is launched in one country and it become famous in the other within a span of time by social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. In addition to this, online deliveries has made it even more accessible for young population to buy their dresses from across the world.
However, there are several negative consequences of increasing global fashion influence. The major drawback of this is the loss of culture and local traditions of a country. People are loosing their culture and values over this trend. They are forgetting their roots and inclining towards the modern culture. Moreover, local businessmen and shopkeepers are affecting badly due to this development.
In conclusion, Global fashion industry is spreading its roots worlwide due to strong adverisements techniques and social media influence of public. I believe that this development of global fashion is a negative development as it has negative impact on the culture, tradition and local business of a country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the question: you explain the influence of advertising, celebrity endorsements, social media and online delivery, then state clearly that you view the trend negatively. The examples of a product spreading between countries and stars promoting clothing help make the causes relevant. Your position is also consistent in the introduction and conclusion. However, the negative effects are less fully developed than the explanation of how fashion spreads. The claims that people are “forgetting their roots” and that local shopkeepers are “affecting badly” would be stronger with a specific explanation or example of how these effects occur. Developing those points more fully would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining the causes, a paragraph on negative effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “However” make the main shifts easy to follow. This gives the essay a coherent progression. Some linking is nevertheless mechanical, with several ideas introduced through similar additive phrases, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the argument together. The reference to “this trend” after discussing global fashion is understandable, but the paragraph on consequences would benefit from clearer links between each claim and its explanation. Use transitions more selectively and connect supporting details directly to the point they illustrate.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “commercialisation,” “endorsement,” “global fashion,” and “local traditions,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “strong marketing strategies.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “admiring and choosing the dressing sense,” “for their endorsement purpose,” and “local businessmen and shopkeepers are affecting badly.” Spelling errors such as “worlwide,” “loosing,” and “adverisements” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe people as “following global fashion trends” and say local businesses “are adversely affected.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “Global fashion is leaving a strong impact … due to” and a relative clause in “personalities … which attracts many users.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “an strong impact” (article agreement), “it become famous” (verb form), and “online deliveries has made” (subject–verb agreement). The sentence about personalities also has an unclear agreement relationship between the plural noun and “which attracts.” Review articles, verb forms and agreement, and make sure each clause has a clear subject. Greater control of these patterns, alongside your existing sentence variety, would improve accuracy.
