Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many aspects people like to wear the fashionable designer clothes that are trending in the fashion industry. To some extent, it is positive development for the fashion design industry that it will be reconize in market and expand their business. On the other aspect, everyone can not afford these kind of dresses so it ceates unequality among the people. In this essay I will discuss these aspects.
First, fashion is growing in the film and drama industry and also famous among elite class people. They like to wear the designer dresses launched by the fashion industry. This result in the business growth and a lot of people get their jobs for designing these fashionable dresses. Overall, the business growth increases. Many fashion brands hire models for the advertisement of their clothes to increase their name and popularity across the market. All these factors turn the positive development.
On the other hand, a great proportion of the population cannot afford these trends. They try to match themselves with other people but in the end they stay humiliated. It creates unequality and sense of inferior among the people. Rich people who can afford these global fashion trends feel themselves superior among all other people who cannot afford. Moreover, fashion trend also influence the culture. Most people shift from their traditional dress to growing fashion such as jeans, T-shirts and suits which reduces their cultural values.
In conclusion, following the fashion trend will increase the confidence and recongnization on the large scale. It also develop the business and fashion industry. But in negative point, people leave their traditional dress to compete with others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions by discussing why fashion spreads and whether its effects are positive or negative. Your points about film and drama, influential people, advertising and employment offer relevant explanations, while affordability, social comparison and cultural change support your concerns. However, the explanation of how global fashion became influential is only partly developed: the response names industries and elite consumers but does not clearly explain how trends reach ordinary people or why they adopt them. The positive and negative sides are presented, but the conclusion does not make a clear overall judgement about whether this is mainly positive or negative. Develop the causes with specific examples and state your position consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for positive and negative effects, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “First,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main direction. However, some linking is mechanical, and the opening promises to discuss “these aspects” without establishing a precise position. Connections between ideas can also be clearer: the move from fashion brands hiring models to “All these factors” is understandable but broad, and the conclusion repeats earlier points rather than synthesising them. Use more precise referencing and show how each example supports the paragraph’s main claim. A clearer progression from causes of influence to its consequences would strengthen the organisation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “designer dresses,” “fashion industry,” “traditional dress,” and “cultural values,” so the reader can understand the subject and your main points. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “a great proportion of the population.” However, several inaccurate or unnatural choices reduce precision, including “reconize in market,” “creates unequality,” “sense of inferior,” and “increase their name.” Spelling errors such as “ceates” and “recongnization” also affect the impression of control. Some wording is repetitive, particularly “fashion” and “people.” Build a more accurate range of collocations and check word forms and spelling; this will make your ideas sound clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some attempts at complex structures, for example “They try to match themselves with other people but in the end they stay humiliated.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and paragraph-level punctuation is generally clear. However, there are some recurring grammatical errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction. Examples include “it is positive development,” “This result in the business growth,” “these kind of dresses,” and “fashion trend also influence the culture.” The final sentence, “It also develop the business,” has a similar agreement problem. Practise checking singular and plural subjects, verb forms, and articles, and revise complex sentences to ensure their clauses are complete and correctly connected.
