Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are two main reason why global fashion has a strong influence. Fistly, the internet and social media play big role.Pepole see celebrities and influencers from America,Koren, or Europe on instagram, tiktok, and youtube. FOr example, if a fomous singer wears a particular jacket, millions of pepole around the world want to buy the same jacket.

Secondly, international brands lie zara H&M, and nie have shops in almost every country. Online shopping also maskes it very easy to buy clothes from other countries. So, people in paistan or india can easily wear the same clothes as people in london or paris.

In my opinion, this development has both positive and negatives sides, but the positive side is more. On the positive side, global fashion gives people more choice.

They can try new styles and express themselves. It also connects the worls and makes fashion cheaper because of mass production. On the negative side, glodal fashion can demage local culture. pepole foget their traditional clothes like shalawr kameez and only waer wastern clothes. Also, many people spend too much money to follow trends, and it creates pressure, especially for young people.

TO conclude, global fashion has becomes strong because of social media and international brands. Although it has some negatives lie losing culture, I thing it is gives more freedom and choice to people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you explain the influence of social media and international brands, then give a clear view that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The examples of a singer’s jacket and people in Pakistan or India wearing clothes similar to those in London or Paris make the causes relevant. You also identify meaningful effects, including greater choice, pressure to follow trends, and possible loss of traditional dress. However, several points are asserted rather than explained—for example, how mass production makes fashion cheaper, or how traditional clothing is displaced. The response is 223 words, below the required 250, and this limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. Add explanation or a specific example for each main point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: two paragraphs explain the causes, a further paragraph weighs positive and negative effects, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “On the negative side” help readers follow the discussion. The main limitation is that some connections feel mechanical, and the positive and negative points are grouped quickly rather than developed in a balanced progression. For instance, the claim that fashion “connects the world” is followed immediately by the cultural drawback without showing how the ideas relate. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make sure each paragraph develops one central idea before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “global fashion,” “influencers,” “international brands,” “traditional clothes,” and “mass production.” Some phrases, such as “express themselves” and “follow trends,” are appropriate to the topic. However, spelling errors and imprecise word choices are frequent and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “Pepole,” “fomous,” “glodal,” and “demage.” There are also awkward expressions such as “positive and negatives sides” and “the positive side is more.” Check spelling carefully and learn natural collocations for comparing advantages and disadvantages. More precise wording would make your argument sound clearer and more academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional example (“if a famous singer wears a particular jacket”) and a contrast between benefits and drawbacks. These structures help convey the argument, but grammatical control is uneven. For example, “There are two main reason” has a plural agreement error, while “global fashion has becomes strong” and “I thing it is gives” contain faulty verb forms. Articles and sentence punctuation also need attention, as in “play big role” and the run-together sentence after “role.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. Building accurate sentences first will let you use more complex structures reliably.
