Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern time, the way of people dress today are developed by global fashion trends. The global fashion become such a strong influence on people's lives because of social media and international brands. From my perspective, I believe it is negative development because fashionable clothes are expensive and fast fashion increases waste and environmental pollution.
On the one hand, fashionable clothes are becoming popular over the world. The major reason of influencing people is social media. They can watch photos and videos of the trending fashions through social media platforms because these platforms are used over the world and many people post their styles on it. For example, a influencer or a celebrity posts his photo or video by wearing fashionable clothes on social media. Now, people see this posts and get influence to wear such clothes. Another reason is to considered that international brands are providing clothes all around the world. Many brand frenchizes are now opened in many countries, which provide clothes to customers widely. This results in influencing people throughout the world and promote fashion.
On the other hand, this trend is negative development because it is expensive. A substancial proportion of people are spending much money on fashionable clothes. Because of this, the demand of the products increases along with the price. Moreover, it increases waste and also effect on environment. Because of high demand, the production of clothes increases, which impacts on environment as the production consists of pollution. Furthermore, the waste of clothes also increases as many people cannot afford expensive clothes.
In conclusion, the global fashion is influenced by social media platforms and the international brands, which provide wide range of product throughout the world. In my opinion, I believe it is negative development because it is expensive and it impacts on evironment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you explain the influence of social media and international brands, and you clearly state that you see the development as negative. The examples of celebrities posting outfits and brands opening franchises help make the causes relevant. Your reasons against the trend—expense and environmental harm—are also appropriate. However, some points are not fully developed or are unclear. For instance, the claim that people who cannot afford expensive clothes create more clothing waste needs explanation; the link between affordability and waste is not evident. Develop each reason with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a specific example to make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs explaining the causes and negative effects, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main stages. However, some connections are mechanical, and a few references are unclear. In “Now, people see this posts,” the reference to “this” is not clear, while the sentence about people being unable to afford clothes does not connect logically to the preceding point about waste. Use linking phrases selectively and make the relationship between each supporting sentence and its main idea explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss the issue, including “global fashion trends,” “international brands,” “demand,” “production,” and “environmental pollution.” There are also attempts at more specific wording, such as “a substantial proportion.” However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations reduce precision: “a influencer,” “brand frenchizes,” “get influence,” and “effect on environment” are not natural or accurate choices. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “fashionable clothes” and “influencing people.” Build a more precise range of expressions for describing trends, consumer behaviour, and environmental consequences, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “which,” and “as,” and your meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, and verb forms occur in several places. For example, “the way of people dress today are developed” has problems with the subject and verb, while “The global fashion become” needs an appropriate verb form. In “a influencer or a celebrity posts,” the article does not agree with the following sound, and “people see this posts” has a number mismatch. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and singular/plural forms, then proofread each sentence while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
