Student answer (Band 6.0)

Global fashion trends have a very huge impact on the choices of the people. Very often, when people see a vast majority of influential personalities following some kind of trend, they get inmpressed very easily.

Nowdays, every other person has a social media accounts, where everyday there is a new fashion trend followed all around the world. The influencers have played a major role in this thing, they present things in such a way, thats quite appealing for the audience. People get impressed and make sure that their fashion taste should be recognized and trendy. Like people of Asia, mostly Pakistanis and Indians are very fond of following Western culture, travela and social media are their soucre of gettinf influenced by western fashion.

Everyone wants limelight, for this reason people actually follow all kind of trendy gloabal fashion. It does have a good impact , as more global fashion grows, more it would be beneficial for international fashion market to thrive. All of this would contribute to the good ties between different countries. However, blindly following every other trend has also many negative impacts, as people often forget their own culture and trends and adapt other region's style and culture. This will only demolish the culture of a state if its people will forget their own identitity and blindly follow everything. For example, Asian people are so impressed by western culture that most of them feel ashamed in their own national dressing and styling.

Consequently, following global trends is a good thing as this will help people to stay up to the date in thw world of fashion; moreover, it is a plus point for the global fashion market financilally. However, in the pursuit of following something so blindly and forgetting own culture, will only demolish the identity of a specific nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: social media influencers and exposure to international trends explain how global fashion spreads, while your discussion weighs economic and cultural effects. Your position is ultimately that it is beneficial, provided people do not abandon their identity, although the conclusion gives more emphasis to the risks. The points about international markets and cultural loss are relevant, but some are asserted rather than developed. For instance, you say global fashion can improve ties between countries without explaining how, and the example of Asian people feeling ashamed of national dress could be made more specific. Develop each main claim with a clear explanation or example, and state your overall judgement consistently from the introduction onward.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: it introduces the topic, explains the influence of social media, considers benefits and drawbacks, and ends with a summary. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “However” and “Consequently” make the direction of the argument visible. At times, though, connections between claims are abrupt or unclear. The move from wanting “limelight” to benefits for the international fashion market needs an explicit link, and “this thing” does not clearly identify the influence being discussed. Some transitions also feel mechanical, particularly the repeated contrast between benefits and cultural harm. Use more precise referencing and explain how each sentence follows from the previous one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “influential personalities,” “fashion trend,” “international fashion market,” and “national dressing.” These choices allow you to discuss both the spread of fashion and its cultural consequences. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or informal, which limits precision: “very huge impact,” “get impressed,” “stay up to the date,” and “demolish the culture” do not sound natural in this context. There are also spelling errors, including “inmpressed,” “gloabal,” and “identitity.” Aim for more precise academic phrasing and check spelling carefully; for example, describe cultural identity as being “eroded” rather than “demolished.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “where,” “as,” and “if,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, especially with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “a social media accounts” has a mismatch between article and plural noun, while “the more global fashion grows, more it would be beneficial” is not formed correctly as a comparative structure. In “in the pursuit of following something so blindly and forgetting own culture, will only demolish…,” the opening phrase lacks a clear grammatical subject. Review article use, subject–verb agreement, and comparative patterns, and punctuate sentence boundaries consistently so complex ideas remain easy to follow.
