Student answer (Band 5.5)

Numerous aspects of the way individuals dress today are dominated by global fashion trends. Although this is mainly because of social media trends and mass production by popular brands. I believe there are several drawback in this trend, firstly disappreance of creativity and declining quality of cloths due to fast fashion.

Global fashion trends have a pretty intence influence on public's dressing habits this is due to two main reasons social media trends on digital platforms and mass production of cloths by market name brands. The growth of social media have made it possible for sellers to reach-out to a wide range to viewer easly and purchasing has become convient then ever on just a click of a button, also advertisers are try to make people like the same things and create hugh demand in the market for their product so that they can mass produce it and extrat maximum profit from the public. For example, the Labubu doll trend which that a crazy explosion, they created the need for their product and then supplied them by over pricing unnesserall.

The major disadvantage of this is lossing creativity of individual dressing sence and depreciating quality of cloths made by fast fashion trends which eventually get out of fashion within just a few months. People used to dress diversly with their choise and everyone had a personality that matched their dressing style. This has all been left behind because of gobal fashion trends and everone varing the same outfits. Furthermore, this has lead to companies manufacturing cloths with no choise and with cheap material such as polyester which is hazardious to human health.

In conclusion, gobal trends in fashion are bad for creativity and quality controle in the markets. This situation is due to the rise of social media infrastructure and mass production by hugh occorparations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you explain the influence of social media and mass production, and you clearly judge the trend negatively because it reduces individuality and clothing quality. The example of the Labubu doll gives your explanation a concrete illustration. However, some ideas are more fully addressed than others. The mechanisms behind social media influence are explained, but the link between mass production and people’s everyday clothing choices could be developed more clearly. The claim that polyester is hazardous to human health is also asserted without support, and the example does not directly demonstrate the effects on clothing. Explain these points with a relevant example or clearer reasoning to make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “For example,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening “Although this is mainly because…” is a sentence fragment, and the first body paragraph joins several ideas in a long run-on sentence. The reference “they created the need” is also unclear because the reader must infer who “they” refers to. Use full sentences, divide the explanation into clearer steps, and make pronoun references explicit to improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “mass production,” “fast fashion,” “creativity,” and “personality,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “dressing habits” and “cheap material.” This gives you enough range to communicate the main ideas. However, frequent spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations reduce accuracy and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “intence,” “easly,” “hugh,” and “depreciating quality”; the intended meaning is generally recoverable, but the wording is not consistently controlled. Check spelling carefully and choose more natural collocations, such as “declining quality” rather than “depreciating quality.” Aim for precise vocabulary rather than adding complex-sounding phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which eventually get out of fashion” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, control is uneven, and several sentence-boundary and agreement errors make parts of the response difficult to read. For example, “Although this is mainly because…” is incomplete, while “The growth of social media have made” has a subject–verb agreement error. The long sentence beginning “Global fashion trends have…” also needs clearer punctuation or division into shorter sentences. Practise forming complete clauses and checking agreement, articles, and verb forms. More accurate control of these structures would make your argument easier to follow.
