Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is becoming increasingly common that in today's time citizens prefer to wear those dress whic are in trend at international fashion forums. The international fashion has influenced the individuals's lives due to its advertisement on social media and influential celeberites follow the global trends first.I believe that it is negative devolepment as it leads to waste of money and culture damage.

In current time social media is a powerful source to advertise the global fashion trends at international level.when people watch content of specific fashion on social media , they become interested to follow this trend to impress their friends and partners.Secondaly, when popular celeberities wear these fashions ,their followers whose want to look like them also try to buy these fashion clothes. As a result, the demand of these trending fashion clothes increases. For instance, when justin bieber wears some new fashion clothes , it increases the deamnd of that fashion when people watch him on social mdia platforms.

On the other side,I think that to follow global fashion trends is completely wastage of money, people buy expensive clothes ,which after some time becomes totally useless when period of that fashion passes away.Instead of this people should spend money on the items ,which are useful for them in long run.Secondaly,it also washes the importance of local cultural fashions from the citizens minds. As a result , local heritage and culture damages.

To sum up, I strongly believe that tp follow global fashion trend is just a negative devolepment

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: social media and celebrities are identified as influences, and you clearly state that the trend is negative because it wastes money and weakens local culture. However, the response is slightly below the required 250 words, and the ideas are not developed enough to fully explain the effects. The Justin Bieber example illustrates celebrity influence, but it would be stronger with a specific explanation of how a trend spreads or affects consumers. The point about cultural damage is also asserted rather than supported with an example. To strengthen the response, explain each reason in more detail and show how it answers the question about fashion’s influence on people’s lives.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining how trends spread, a paragraph presenting disadvantages, and a brief conclusion. This gives the reader an overall sense of progression. Linking expressions such as “As a result,” “For instance,” and “To sum up” help signal relationships between ideas. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear: “On the other side” does not accurately introduce the writer’s opposing evaluation, and “Secondaly” is repeated to introduce different points. Several sentences run together without appropriate spacing or punctuation, making the flow harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and vary transitions, while ensuring each example is explicitly connected to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “influential celebrities,” “followers,” “demand,” and “local heritage.” These choices make the main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited and some wording is inaccurate or unnatural, such as “wastage of money,” “washes the importance,” and “culture damages.” Spelling errors—including “celebrities,” “development,” and “demand”—are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. There is also repetition of “fashion” and “trend.” Build a wider set of natural collocations for discussing consumer behaviour and cultural change, and check spelling carefully. More precise phrasing would help communicate your ideas without changing their meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause in “as it leads to waste of money” and a relative clause in “clothes, which after some time becomes totally useless.” This shows some range, but complex structures are often faulty, and errors sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “their followers whose want to look like them” has an incorrect relative structure, while “clothes … becomes” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening sentence also has an unclear construction, and punctuation is frequently missing around sentence boundaries and after introductory phrases. Practise forming accurate relative clauses and checking agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex structures.
