Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a clear overall view that global fashion has both positive and negative effects, and you state that its advantages outweigh its disadvantages. However, the task is only partially addressed: the question asks both how global fashion became influential and whether this is positive or negative, but the response gives little explanation of the causes of its influence. Examples such as film-industry workers, formal meetings and international trips are mentioned, yet their relevance is not explained or developed. The positive and negative sides are also asserted rather than supported with reasons or specific examples. The response is 105 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to develop the argument. Explain the causes and evaluate both effects with concrete support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: the first paragraph introduces the topic and mentions possible effects, while the second gives a concluding opinion. Linking expressions such as “Although,” “however” and “Overall” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, there is no clear progression from explaining fashion’s influence to weighing its effects, and the first paragraph combines several points in one long sentence. The contrast signalled by “Although” is not completed clearly, and “however” introduces another shift without a well-defined relationship. Develop separate paragraphs for causes, benefits and drawbacks, then use clear topic sentences and references so each point follows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “formal meetings,” “professional lives” and “society,” so the reader can identify the subject and your general position. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “contemporary era” and “outweigh,” but several choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward: “become trend,” “motivated by,” “help from,” and “trending approach” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Spelling errors such as “stongly,” “industory” and “guaideness” are noticeable, and “prons” obscures the intended word. Build a more accurate range of collocations for discussing influence, benefits and drawbacks, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some complex sentence structures, particularly the opening sentence beginning “Although” and the sentence using “however,” but these are often faulty or difficult to follow. There are frequent problems with verb forms and agreement, as in “people used their outfit” and “people can used it”; the intended forms are “people use” and “people can use.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also weak: the first paragraph runs several ideas together, while commas do not consistently separate clauses. The second paragraph includes fragments or incomplete constructions, such as “so, used these trending approach wisely helpfull.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles and punctuation.
