Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is stated that currently the dressing sense of individuals are more influenced by universal fashion trends. I strongly agree with this because due to globalisation it become more convenient for individuals to keep an eye on fashion industry. It has both impacts positive as well as negative. On the one hand it promotes the business while for others who are financially stress and not able to follow the trends due to lack of funds feel disgrace.

Firstly, due to moderinization it becomes easay to bridge the gap. Also easy success to social media for individuals is quiet convenient and reliable way;however, they are able to see the influencers and celebrities promoting the new fashion. Owing to this more people wants to follow the same fashion. However more brands introduce the clothes according to new trend and people but it although on high prices. Which directly promotes the business and fashion designers. This is mostly happen amoung young generation because they have more concern about it. For instance, the boom of e-commerce brands and local boutique setups. When local shoppers are influenced by Western or Korean fashion trends, they actively look for accessible ways to buy those looks closer to home.

In contrast, the other people who have lack of funds feel ashame by not following a trend. Moreover, other also discouraged them by saying out fashion. For instance, a university going girl when see other students in modern clothes he also wish to wear that type of dresses but the family is not able to support her. It become very difficult for a moderate family to survive in this type of society other degrade him according to their outfits which is not a positive aspect which should be discouraged.

In conclusion, as influenced by global fashion is a positive aspect regarding to business but it have a negative impact on individual with low income family. They are not able to follow to trends as they can not afford it and sometime they feel ashamed and guilty.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you explain the influence of social media, celebrities, globalisation and clothing brands, and you present both benefits and drawbacks. Your position is broadly clear: fashion trends can support business, but may create pressure for people with limited incomes. The examples of e-commerce and a university student help make the discussion relevant. However, the explanation of how global fashion became influential is stronger than the evaluation of whether this is positive or negative. The financial and social pressure point is repeated in the second body paragraph and conclusion, while the business benefit receives limited explanation. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and a more decisive overall judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphing generally helps the reader follow the shift from business benefits to financial pressure, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “In contrast” and “In conclusion” make the main stages clear. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “However more brands introduce the clothes according to new trend and people but it although on high prices” does not show the relationship between the ideas clearly. The reference in “other also discouraged them” is also difficult to follow. Improve progression by making each paragraph develop one main point in a clear sequence, and use pronouns and linking expressions only when their references are unmistakable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “influencers,” “fashion designers,” “e-commerce” and “low income.” These choices help communicate the subject and show attempts to use more specific language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “easy success to social media,” “feel disgrace,” “out fashion” and “a moderate family.” Spelling errors, including “moderinization,” “easay” and “amoung,” also reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for instance, describe people as feeling “ashamed” or “excluded,” and refer to “affordable clothing” rather than relying on vague phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “On the one hand” and a conditional example beginning “when see other students.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main message is usually understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms and sentence construction recur. For example, “the dressing sense of individuals are” should use a singular verb, while “it become more convenient” needs a past or present-tense form that agrees with the subject. Some sentences are incomplete or run together, particularly “Which directly promotes the business and fashion designers.” Work on building complete sentences, checking subject–verb agreement, and using punctuation to separate connected ideas. More accurate control of these patterns would make your reasoning easier to follow.
